The key is to be consistent. Initially when we got our first bengal James, I was using a firm "no" and my girlfriend was using anything and everything. She was really annoyed that James only ever appeared to listen to me when i told him no.
Since we have both started to be consistent we now have two obedient bengals (we got a second a little while ago). I'm not suggesting that they dont go on the worktops when we're not around. But regardless of what they are doing, they know that when my partner or I give a stern "NO" it means to stop doing whatever it is they are doing. And they do.
As another tip, I have heard that double sided tape on the worktop helps. So if they always jump onto it from a particular spot, put it there. The tackiness is something that they really dislike. It is also a very passive means of training them. We never used this but apparently it works.
