Hi There,

if your other cats have their own beds or blankets give their beds to your new member. Also give your new members bed/blanket to your other cats to sleep on. They will then sleep on each others bedding and will smell the same as each other. After several days try introducing them to each other again. You can spray catnip and felliway spray. They love this smell and should help them to like each other. Introduce them just for a few minutes at a time and then increase their visits each day. You could always give them treats after each introduction.

Thanks for your reply, i will be buying some catnip spray today its definitely worth a try. We've had a small breakthough as our top cat seems to like her & they both fell asleep in the same room together, so fingers crossed if they bond things will sort themselves out.

Let me know how you get on with your new member. I'm sure they will be fine. I think it is harder though to introduce adults than it is to introduce a kitten. You can buy plug in Feliway. It is a friendly pheromone that cats would give when they rub their faces on furniture when they are being friendly. Feliway has been known to de-stress cats and also stop cats urinatitng on cushions/furniture.
