Bailey recently joined our home at the age of 10 months. He’s now 11 months so we haven’t had him to long.

He is my first cat and with the a Bengal It's been fun,strange,tiring...... getting used to his behaviour.

Bailey doesn’t seem to be a lap cat at all or like to much fuss. He seems to like being stroked when he wakes up in a morning and always gives me the little head butts and little nibbles with purrs when i get up and when i come home.

He doesn’t seem to mind that he is on his own for several hours on work days, but i feel that he sleeps during this time and when we get home we feed him and then he's on crazy mode for a least 4 hours. (It's 10pm here and he is now laid chewing on a paper bag and pulling it around the room)

At the moment my hands are covered in scratches and bites from Bailey's playing. Do you think he will calm down a little?

My partner feels we should get Bailey a play mate. I just wondered what everyone’s view was on having two Bengal’s rather than one or if anyone believed one was enough?

He sounds 100% normal to me.....nothing wrong with the guy at all!

Bengals do pair up very well together.....as for the biting and rough play, this may ease up if he gets a worthy opponent i.e another bengal.

When a cat play fights with another, they feel the resistance through bites, swipes and wrestling each other......at the moment your hand offers none of this hence the rough play and hands covered in scratches!

I'd say get the young boy a friend to bounce off!

I agree - 2's company.
We have two Bengals - a brother and sister and they share a special bond, but they also like nothing better than a good old play fight.
They bounce off each other, rather than off of us.

Yes to two kittens, we have one Bengal and a Maine Coon, and they get on really well, they play fight, chase each other around the house and at the end of the day curl up together in the same bed.

So I think as long as they are similar age and intelligents they'll get on.

Elsa I think you have hit the nail on the head with everything you have said, I think in my heart I really want Bailey to have a play mate but my mind is warning me of all the issues I need to consider and think about.

We have decided to visit our Breeder and have a look at some new litters, which will be available in June and July and see how we feel then. I know as soon as I see the little faces I will fall in love.

We are taking Bailey along to so our Breeder can see him again. Our Breeder had Bailey until he was 10 mths old and she really misses him. This will also get Bailey used to going back again when we go away on holiday in June.

Hi everyone

We went to see the two new litters our Breeder had yesterday.

She had some 5 week old brown spotted and marble kittens.(going through the fuzzies at min)

But i fell in love with the 2 week old snow girl (not as pretty as Elaine's fantastic Snow Princess, dont think there can be a bengal kitten out there that can do that though).

Here's a pic of the snow girl i really like.

Oooh, that snow girl just has "take ME home, never mind my brothers" written all over her little face!

I am afraid it is me holding the little girl and feel really guilty about it now in case I have up set her in the litter or given her an infection. Our Breeder didn’t seem to mind and when we placed her back with her mum, she was licked clean and snuggled back up to her.

We got bailey from the same Breeder and he was fully vet checked and had all his vaccinations so I do trust the Breeder completly because Bailey is in great health.

She will not be ready to leave until she is over 3 months old so wont be ready to collect until the middle of July. I think we are going to see how she gets on and maybe visit her when she is a little older and decide later. She was adorable though.

cute kitten pics but are you sure they are only 2 weeks old ?
They look big and very playfull for two weeks. They look very similar in age to snow Princess
