I had a cat for 15 years and he recently died of old age. He wasn't a bengal though, but he loved to chew on plastic. He didn't ever swallow any that I know of. He just liked to chew certain kinds of plastic. I never found any in his litter pan, but I usually took the plastic away from him if I noticed he was chewing it too. Someone told me it reminded them of their mothers nipple.

I am considering a bengal and I'm a little worried about all the stories about their litter habits. Any problems with yours?

Nope...no litter problems with mine. She's really good...and has been since the day we got her. I just hope it stays this way.

I have a five year old cat (not a bengal) that does the same thing. ANY time we bring home groceries, anything from the store that comes in a bag - she's going to chew on it.









As to WHY she does it, I have no idea. I also worry that she might ingest plastic so I try to keep an eye on her, and take bags away if I'm not going to be there to watch. :/

Edited to add that I DO have litter problems with my bengal boy - but he always uses the litterboxes if they're scooped/cleaned regularly. He is incredibly picky.

Your cat is really pretty. My boyfriend's mom has a gray cat like that and she has really soft fur (not like bengals though ) Is your cat's fur really soft too? There's just something about those all gray cats that I just love...even though they're not exotic looking, like bengals. Is she a mixed breed or a Chartreux?
