My little Cambria (9months old) has recently begun padding LOTS when she comes to settle on me/the bed. I don't really want her to do it loads but don't know how to stop her. She stops once she's settled, but she never used to do it and her brother doesn't either.
Any tips?

Pippin goes all dribbly when he paddles and Merry finally paddled for the first time this week which I was soooo happy about.

I know it's a comfort thing - my Burmese used to do it too. It's just that she's gone from not doing it to REALLY "going for it"!! And tbh it hurts sometimes!!
Will make sure the blanky is at hand and try the art of distraction!

Hugo has started padding on me in the last 6 weeks. He looks at me really lovingly and even dribbles a bit. His claws can be sharp so I make sure I have a pad or something around for him to get lovey on. Roo doesn't do this on your lap as he is not a lap cat, but if you stroke him in his hammock his paws will flex as if he is padding, so i think he loves me too!!!
