This drives me nuts! Both Bengals pee & poop in the bathroom sink or bath. I can't leave them alone for 5 minutes! One has also started to poop on the roof of our car while it's in the garage.

I have noticed this is while the car is wet. I know they like water so could this have something to do with it?

Is it just a recent thing they have started doing. I know it is not just a bengal thing, as my dads cat would on occasions poo in the bath, but that was usually in the summer months when she was caught short and couldn't get access to her litter tray.

Have you changed their litter at all, cos perhaps they don't like it, so are going elsewhere. It's strange that both are doing it. So I presume there must be some reason for the behaviour.

So i'm not much help. Perhaps one of the other members may be able to advise.

I've been living with cats for OVER 25 years -- the only times I've ever had any of my cats exhibit this type of behavior was when there was an ILLNESS (kidney or bladder infection) or possibly stomach upset from change in diet, and on one occasion a bacterial infection of the bowels. OR when there was some sort of confrontational stress going on in the house. :unsure:

If your "home enviornment" hasn't changed in some way, and you haven't changed the brand of litter you use... you should get the cats checked at the vet. It sounds to me like they are TRYING to let you know that SOMETHING is WRONG ! ! !

Take a look around -- if you haven't changed something pretty drastically in their environment -- they MAY be ILL !!!

The cat that does it the most is a three year old we've only had for a couple of months. She's settling in okay but it's taking a while. She knows where the litter trays are but I keep finding her on the bench or in the sink. She had a good vet check not long after we got her.

I read in a book the other day that Bengals like to do their business in water because of their wild heritage - maybe that's just it?

Samson still poos in the sink and I'm resigned to the fact that it's because they do their business in water in the wild.

I started filling the bath tub with water as a deterant and he still does it!

my cats used to do this, then we increased the number of litter boxes, I have one for each cat, I notice they perfure the open one over the closed ones. Also changing the litter more then just once a day. I empty the boxex two to three times a day..and i give fresh litter not recycleing old litter, once a week...it is a bit more expensive but the cats dont use the sink anymore.

I've discovered that it's definately the water that maes them toilet in the sink. I let them drink out of the tap often and when they do this they will toilet there if I let them.

I stopped for a few months and they stopped too. Last week I let Samson drink in the bath tap and now he poops in there again!

mount a spigate above the toilet seat, let them drink off it for a few times, TA-DA toilet trained kitties.
