This is my first Bengal cat, so I am new to this process. I adopted KC a week ago from one of my good friends whose Bengal had an accidental liter. My friend who was working full time never had the energy to spend sufficient time with him, so he is shall we saw "not accostumed to humans". It is not his fault as he is a working man with responsibilities and he did the humain choice in not aborting the kittens in the womb.

Now to the problem at hand. KC is 5 months old (I got him last week), and he spends most of his day hiding from me. He seems to terribly miss his mother and father whom he spent the majority of his time with (he was the last kitten of the litter to go). Occasionally he will meow (especially when he smells some furniture I aquired from his old house).

I need some help. How am I going to get this cat to trust and love me? I don't expect him to be the friendlist cat around other people, but I do want him to love me as I love him. It would be nice if he displayed some sort of affection towards me. Everybody is telling me to be patient and continue showing him affection. But I am not sure if I am doing this correctly. Please let me know how you other Bengal and feline owners were able to tame your cats? Thank you. I will keep everybody posted. Take care.

Your cat is adjusting, let him do it on his own terms at his own pace. Be available, talk to him, feed him, give him freedom to roam and explore and eventually he will love you.

I have 2 bengals... twin sisters. Moe instantly adjusts to new surroundings, which includes 4 moves in the past 18 months, and never shows any signs of fear or disatisfaction with the process.

Skyler on other hand... one full week squeezed under a bed until she will gradually venture out into her new surroundings. She will come out to eat and poop, then right back under the bed. If you try to coax her out she will hiss, wail and otherwise let you know that you have ruined her life.

Cats are as unique as people. Not all of us adjust easily. Give it time.
