i have just read this thread from start to finish, and i agree with ALL posts.
I was having the same conversation at work just 2 days ago - unfortunatly we do live in a throw away and money grabbing society, but members of this forum are here for a love of the breed! (and if not then please do not post as you are not welcome) on the other hand the problems caused by back street breeders cannot be ignored, and should be highlighted, though maybe addressed a little differently! Personally if i come across a dodgy breeder i will report them to the RSPCA, with the new laws passed last year they have so much more power. Also i feel that no matter what is intending to be bred then courses need to be taken and exams passed - a little extreme - maybe .....but i feel the same way about humans! If we lived in a perfect world then we wouldn't need the RSPCA / NSPCC and the rest of the welfare organisations.
I posted what could have been seen as a contraversial post when i first joined, but all of you welcomed me and i thank you for that, i have learned so much from all of you and i feel my furbabies have benefited from your advice.
I would like to hope that if everyone united in a determined effort to stamp out back street breeders one day .....well i can only hope.
The RSPCA have pulled out of Crufts, there has been bad breeding in the dog world for years, (my Step-Mum quit the Kennel Club for this very reason) this is a start lets keep the ball rolling!

PS - to Alleycatfiver who has deceided not to include themselves in a fantastic world, fine, i love the behaviour thread, not only does it help others out there but i can keep telling my OH what well behaved babies we have, even when he finds them in places they shouldn't be - doing something they shouldn't!
You are obviously not suited to the breed (not everyone is, and its no bad thing) and I thank you for making a decision which will save some kitten from you and of course you from a Bengal, who could have ended up having a bad life, but on the other hand.....oh well i guess you will never know

I've had moggies, Persians & Bengals.

Saffy, my female Bengal has behavioural issues, which only started after her brother was killed (understandable as stress can change any animals behaviour)

William, my 1yr old male, is the most adorable, fun, naughty, mischievous little character. Which i love and wouldn't change for the world.

I've had moggies with behaviour problems and without.
I think it all comes down to how well socialised the cat is (as Tally said) and not just due to an animals breed, in this case, the Bengal.
I personally don't agree with all the BYB who are weakening the gene pool and, through greed, creating alot of extra unwanted kittens which are being passed on as full Bengals. It makes me cross..

In my experience, you don't know what type of personality you're going to get until you get it. Whatever breed it is!
All you can do is be well informed before you make your decision.

Bengals are fun, energetic & loving, and to be honest, probably the best type of pet i've ever owned..
