How long do you play with your kitty? We got our 4 month old today and we've been playing with him for literal HOURS. We just got in bed and he's darting around the room! He was so scared and shy when we brought him home, he took refuge under the bed.. but he'd getting a bit more brave.. still darts under the bed or dresser, but he's extra playful, seems like an endless supply of energy!

Welcome to the world of bengals -- especially bengal kittens. You probably can never completely wear out a bengal kitten. LOL. He may want to sleep in your bed with you -- or put a cat bed in your bedroom. They tend to want to be wherever you are. Your little one won't ever completely lose his energy level, but he will not be a kitten forever. Enjoy the adventures and think of the exercise you are getting, too.

Well, if you are going to get a playmate, now is the time to do it. Not sure if there are any littermate left, but they usually do better together. Just know that two means double the trouble. LOL. They will be mischief makers, partners in crime. Your baby was used to siblings to engage with. Know that it can take weeks for a new kitty to settle in. It's overwhelming leaving mom and brothers and sisters and hear new voices, smell new things, and have a totally different environment. Some adjust more quickly than others -- but all adjust in time.

And just like new parents, sometimes new bengal owners tend to overthink a little. Time and patience are two virtues all bengal owners need to have -- now and forever.

The little monsters 3

Jagger plays with us for a few hours and then crashes. He usually jumps on a lap and goes into a coma. It's nice cuddle time when he's out. Then he wakes up and starts all over. We have a lot of things that tucker him out.

The problem we have is his timing. He wakes up and has energy when it's time for us to go to bed. First few nights we let him in the bedroom but his game is attacking your feet under the covers. Staying perfectly still doesn't help either. So now we say good night and put him in his bed in another room. He seems to accept it and starts meowing early morning telling us to wake up.

Vincent, you know Jagger wants to be in the same room. That's a bengal trait. Kittens are particularly had to put down at night. They seem to find their wind about the time you are losing yours. LOL. My DSH who is 6 years old loves to play with feet when he hops up on the bed. Bengal Raiden doesn't have any interest. I know it's hard to get sleep with a kitten -- they are like newborn babies in that regard. However, our cats have the run of the house and Raiden will always be just a step away.

Cats do tend to find their own sleep[ing areas, which may or may not be a cat bed. I have several cat beds plus three cat trees and both of my cats love the cat trees for sleeping. At night, one or both of them are in bed with us. just can't seem to get rid of them. LOL

Don't forget to get the wrapping paper from a shoe box out and push a plastic rod underneath it! Kayley loves the noise of the paper rattling as she shreds it and kangaroo kicks the rod. Bailey was napping in the bedroom closet atop the flatten fleece lined kitten tent this morning and Kayley just HAPPENED to walk into the closet 5X to check on her brother and confirm he was hibernating and rigor mortis had not set in. Of course, she checks on both Bailey and me plus their 19 year old Bengal uncle Spanky.
There is nothing better on earth to play with than another Bengal!

I don't have the energy for the bengal I have now who will turn 12 years old March 25. I could not imagine having two of them. The DSH tends to just sleep all day long and has a short playtime.
