Im new to this site, but am already am an established member of the NBA group on yahoo. I have been checking out some of the topics about peeing!! Lovely... I currently breed Bengal and burmese and have 2 queens one of each and an additional neuter bengal female also. I have the problem of weeing which from a bit of research seems to be a common tendency within the bengal breed. I just wondered if anyone has found something that works!! Goldie my queen regardless of being in season or not pees on everything and has done from about 6 months of age..the laundry basket, chairs, sofa, any washing that dares to be left on the floor (which isnt so bad as at least the kids pick their stuff up now he he !!) the bed, even on us in the bed!! the shower tray, the bath.. just about anywhere. we have 3 litter trays 2 downstairs and one upstairs. I've tried shutting her out, feliway, citronella, reassurance, the cat detective book!! Just about everything. She is quite a nervous soul and has been since I brought her home, she hates anything to be out of place but she has had much love and affection lavished on her. She has been checked out at the vets etc.. I feel like I am compounding the situation when I shut her out as she mournfully wails outside.. She is such a dear cat it breaks my heart to think she is unhappy in some way and whats worse is she knows its wrong, and almosts hangs her head in shame!! Has anyone found anything that works? Apart from putting freedom fencing round the bed I'm running out of ideas!

Hi Laura,

There is a considerable amount of advice on here regarding weeing/spraying in inappropriate places, but I am sure you have probably tried most of the solutions if not all.
Queens are very territorial and once they start spraying/peeing they will carry on I am afraid. Apart from keeping them segregated from other cats or keeping them in a pen there really is not much you can do apart from follow them around with a mop

For what it may be worth though...I have a female pet Bengal, Tahja, who has always sprayed and 'weed' since she was 6 months old. I have tried many cat litters over the years, and 'settled' for wood based pellets. However, recently I have changed to 'Everclean' and for the first time in years Tahja has stopped the weeing! I think maybe clumping litter masks a cats smell more which can be intimidating to other cats, and the Everclean is excellent for odour control too. It has certainly worked for Tahja and I had given up all hope of her never weeing/spraying again! So it may work for you

Hi Thanks for that, I haven't heard of it but will give it a go. I'll try anything !! I had tried yesterdays news and a clay based one but settled on wood pellets.
