Hello everyone. So I apparently made the mistake of forgetting to put my butter away yesterday.
And quickly found out Chili likes to eat butter?? Is she going to be okay? Can she get sick from eating it? I usually keep it away and have no intention of letting her consume anymore. But should I be worried?

Puck is a butter boy too. It's dairy, he wants it in any form. How much did she eat? She might have some tummy trouble but I think she'll be fine beyond that.

So strange! I guess, just never thought of butter being very appetizing... she licked it in a bunch of different places. Probably added up to about a tablespoon. She has seemed okay today. Her poops are normal too. Phew! What a relief! Does your cat also play with the toilet paper? My cat will roll it and roll it and roll it... then sits pretty in her nice little pile she makes and looks sooooo cute!!
 I’m such a sucker...

LOL. My roommate found out the hard way that cats like butter. He likes to leave butter out at room temperature and made the mistake of leaving it uncovered. There was a big dip carved out in the middle sculpted out by Oberon's tongue. I didn't notice any problems. I suspect he didn't have any difficulties with constipation.

My Natawni was a butter lips too! And cream cheese! I could never leave a bagel unattended or I would come back to a naked bagel!

Oooohhhhhh yes to the toilet paper. I keep the bathroom door closed now. He sits on top of the toilet tank and just hits it with his front paws.

Butter helps with hairball prone cats ( obviously not Bengals ) so they could clear/pass them a bit easier. It's actually not that uncommon for people to give other breeds ( looking at you Persians ) a pat of butter every so often around shedding season.

For Toilet paper, I put the roll on backwards ( around the back ) and it doesn't stop her from chewing or ripping at it, but it makes it more likely she will roll it up rather than pulling it all down.

Butter seems to attract a lot of cats. I'm guessing Chili didn't get a whole lot of it -- so she should be okay! One just has to be so careful in leaving anything out. For some reason, cats find exactly what they are not supposed to find!!!

Butter is great for preventing hairballs, more nutritious than the fish flavored goop my cats like.

Butter would help lubricate the digestive system. As long as they don't devour the entire stick of butter. LOL
