just got a new Bengal, had her nearly 2 days still has not eaten and is very very scared, she has her own area but staying in her bed. she is looking around and vocal every now and then.

do we just leave her and she will get used to her surroundings , i have emailed the breeder to see what she was feeding her so maybe that might start that process

With a new kitten, you should feed her what the breeder was as you seem to be aware, most breeders will give you a few days supply of the food they were using because switching foods is not something that is easy for kittens. Most kittens will eat some canned food even if the brand isn't the same as the dry so maybe that will help you out. Mine who is quite young did not have a problem with Wilderness Salmon despite it not being the same brand as the kibble she eats ( we picked up a bunch of different foods before we got her just so we had some on hand ). If she hasn't eaten in a few days I would probably call the breeder ( hopefully they gave you a number ).

As for the scared, I'm not sure what to advise there. Mine was very curious and not scared at all ( aside from any sudden noise ). I've always made a habit of talking to kittens in a more whispering voice reassuring them things are ok.

Sorry I only just now saw this. Hopefully by now your kitten has calmed down a bit. Let us know how things are right now and I'll try to help based on the situation.

Many kittens are highly stressed at leaving their mom and siblings and going to a new home environment with new smells and new humans. The key is patience. It can take time for the kitty to gain confidence enough to want to start investigating things. It is also common for a new kitten to not want to eat, but after 48 hours, I might at least try to syringe some food down as you don't want the kitty to get sick. You want to continue feeding the kitty what the breeder was feeding the kitty. Most kittens will start eating within 48 hours. But, if this baby is particularly traumatized, it may take longer. Try some treats, or tuna in water -- at least to get the kitty started to eat. If that doesn't work, a trip to the vet is going to be necessary, although most breeders' contracts state you must take the cat to the vet within 72 hours for a checkup.

Hopefully, by now, you've gotten things settled -- please update us on how she is doing.
