My 2 boys are almost exactly the same age (10 days apart) from the same breeder and have know each other since they were 10 weeks old. I got them at 13 weeks. They are best friends, always together. Either just hanging out, playing, play fighting (a really big use of their time!) or sleeping. I always felt in their first year that they were closer to each other than to me, and to be honest I was really happy about that, because they spend far more time with each other than with me and that's why I got 2. Power struggles have now been sorted, Spider used to think he could take the lead until one day he pushed too far and Maasai floored him, and now they are apparently equal in almost everything. They actually share (with the occasional growl of course!) But I have noticed recently, that I only get one of their attention at a time. Me and Spider have always had a more tactile relationship, because he is a much more fussy cat, he loves to be picked up and is always around my feet purring. Maasai is a bit of a lone wolf. Affectionate, but only in short bursts and he mostly just loves to sit and examine his territory. Spookable quite easily, whereas Spider wouldnt move if a meteor hit him. Maasai is less confident for sure. But I always thought the reason I didnt get as much fuss was because he was just a traditional Bengal and didnt like being held/cuddled/fussed as much. Anyway, recently I have noticed that if Spider, being as boisterous as he is, gets on my nerves and I shoo him (he may get over eager with his rubs when Im working, or mistake my foot for a toy, or destroy my apartment! All equally as possible) he will always be quite coy for about an hour or so, before he comes back to make friends again. Maasai has recently started using these hours to come and hang out with me and he has been rubbing against me and being so cute! This has never been his character! They both seem fine together still. But this has now extended to me wondering if Maasai's apparent 'bengalness' was just lack of confidence?! Or is he just taking an opportunity for some uninterrupted fussing! I am basically thinking out loud. Thanks for listening!

It is really difficult to understand cats, especially bengals. They all have different personalities. Mine is 10 years old and has never been affectionate but I attribute that to his previous owner who was probably not affectionate with him and pretty much allowed him to be an outdoor cat. I've always had lap cats, but Raiden has never been one unless he wants a massage from his daddy. The other kitty we are taking care of is extremely affectionate and wants to lay on us all the time. And this one was an all outdoor cat until we finally allowed him in the house. Both kitties are super sweet, but Raiden shows his love in other ways. Before he lays down at my feet at night, he has to come and step his front paws on me and get his few rubs before I tell him "good night." I think cats show their love for their owners in their own way.

Confidence is extremely important to a cat. Raiden used to be the aggressor with the other cat, but now it's reversed and Raiden usually gets taken down when Legs comes inside. However, they get along fine otherwise and have their separate areas they prefer to sleep in.

Clare has posts here (Tabitha is her user name) where her Hendrix and Jagger's relationship has changed over the years. I guess that's just the way cats are.

Clare (Tabitha) does come on and post and she has a topic here about her two kitties. The forum is not particularly active, but there are a few of us who check in daily.

Happens to mine. They're siblings and for the first year and a half were mostly into themselves. They'd always be by the door when I came back from work and sometimes they'd play with me but usually they didn't pay much attention to me, except for the food business :).

In the last couple of months though(they're two years old now), they started to change, seeking more attention from me, especially Lily. All of a sudden she likes to be petted, especially in the mornings. Her brother also becomes more and more affectionate, the other day he was lying next to me on the sofa, something unimaginable a few months ago.

Makes you wonder what the future brings...
