We adopted Snowy in October and he will be a yr old next week. Our kids are allergic to cats so he was a great fit in that respect. But as time has gone on he has become very agresive and out of no where will attack my 4 and 5 yr old and even my wife. We have tried to play with him as much as possible but he seems to get board pretty quick with most things. He's not a very affectionate cat witch is a change from what we are used to but are fine with it. He is very social in that he always has to be where we are in the house most of the time. We really don't want to get rid of him but we are at a loss. As you can see he is pretty much an albino witch in reading say he can have vision issues but it seems to be quite good. He has been very tolrant of our kids expecialy our son who is a high functioning autistic child and most of the time would sleep with him ever night even putting up with my son's snuggling with him at night but it seems like if he doesn't get what he wants he gets more agresive weather is treats he wants or wanting to go out side(witch we do on a leash) or his "garage time" where we let him explore our garage.

Snowy is beautiful! Bengals are not known for being aggressive, but any cat can be at times. It is difficult to tell you what needs to be done. We don't know your family, the environment of the cat, etc. Hopefully, you have your home catified so Snowy has many places to be. It is true that bengals want to be with their humans. Have you had Snowy's vision checked? Some cats can become aggressive if they aren't able to see that well or are surprised at something. I'm hoping you use the words "NO" and "STOP" so that he understands. The other thing is play time. Some cats can become over stimulated and the aggression starts there. I'm guessing Snowy sees a vet regularly and has no medical issues happening.

The other key is to never display fear. If your kids or your wife are terrified os Snowy, he will know it and use it to his advantage. Sometimes you simply have to leave him alone and ignore him. However, there should be times when he is calm and resting and should be talked to and petted gently. The key is that you control Snowy's life and not the other way around.

Your vet may want to prescribe something to calm him down or you can check out Jackson Galaxy's Spirit Essences and see if there is a remedy that might help you out.

As Sherry said, get his eyes checked - if he has vision issues this can mean his other senses are heightened - there was a very good episode on My Cat From Hell on this recently as it is possible there may be certain ways of approaching him you need to be careful of - I think one of the things on the programme was that the cat didn't like anything coming overhead ie petting from behind.

If his vision is fine he may of course just be pushing his boundaries as he is getting older. So you need to be firm but gentle, ensure he knows you are boss etc.

It may be worth speaking to a cat behaviourist as well. I did with mine when they hit two years old and a lot of inter-cat aggression started.

Snowy is beautiful!

Given that Snowy is less than a year old, these attacks are probably high spirits and excessive energy.

It sounds to me that Snowy would benefit from having an equally high spirited playmate to roughhouse with. It sounds like even a dog would be great.

It's never a good idea for humans to roughhouse with young cats, because as they become adults it becomes nearly impossible to train them out of the behavior.

Snowy is a beautifull young cat. He is bored and has a lot of energy. He wants to play and wrestle like young cats do. I would get him another male young cat to paly with.
