Personally I use it almost every single night for the past four years since insomnia took over my nights. That's why I was surprised to learn through a FB Group that Melatonin is advertised for heat cycles, spraying, misbehavior... etc. for cats.

Thank God I don't have any issue at all with Snickers. But I'm educating myself about the subject along with everything that concern Bengals. Here's a link I googled about the subject for those not aware of its uses:

Did anybody try it for heat cycles, spraying and flight trips? If so, how effective? How frequent? And what dosages?

Please do not give Snickers melatonin or any herb for that matter. If you have any questions, consult your vet. When it comes to giving cats dosages of human supplements, you have NO idea how much to give. Melatonin comes in such a small pill that to cut 1/10th of it to give to cat is impossible, and you have no idea how the cat will react to the product. It's better to be safe. Please let Snickers be a cat for gosh sakes! Do not give her anything that is not recommended by your vet! Facebook users can post anything. For the safety of your cat, stay away from things like this. I am begging you, Hassaan! It is natural for a cat to go through a heat cycle, and to spray! The only natural way to deal with this is to spay Snickers. Let Snickers be Snickers.

I was not aware they had melatonin specifically for cats. I'm just cautioning you and every other cat owner to not give a cat any type of supplement or herb or medication until you've consulted with your vet.

I wouldn't fight your cat's natural sleep habits, that won't be very healthy for them in the long run.

My bengal mix, however, used to get bad stomach aches from his health issues when I first got him. That would keep him from sleeping. I used to let him sniff a capsule of valerian, he loved it and it totally relaxed him enough to allow him to sleep despite the tummy ache. So if there is a situation like that, valerian is related to catnip and some cats really like it. (It doesn't affect every cat, however, just like catnip.)

I just hope those with cats who keep them up all night don't get into this topic. I know there are cat products with valerian, catnip, etc. I think it is dangerous to mess with a cat's normal sleep habits. Bengals tend to take short naps, run around, and nap again. My "other" cat will come in and sleep 7 hours straight during the day, only to get up and move his position and fall back asleep. He is out and about all night long. Raiden, on the other hand, will sleep through the night, but during the day he is awake a lot.
