My name is syaiful and i'm from singapore.new to this forum and do read alot from this forum.

All right.my cat list are as followed:

1 mainecoon mix domestic long hair(dhl) (young)
3 spotted mix rosseted bengal kitten(3 female)
3 bengal young cat.(1 male 2 female)

The mainecoon(MC) are getting along well with the 3 kitten.been eating together and sometime they will "fight" with each other.

My dilemma came from the 3 young one,

It has been a week since i got the 1st one before i get the other 2 from the same breeder.and 3 of them were sibling,and i found out the were locked up in cages since they were young.

They are now in the "safe room".and everytime when i came in to give them food n clean up they room,they will run and hide.

My guilt :( ,

Among all 3,1 of the young female let me hold her up,pat and talk to her.and when i let her go,she will walk and hide behind boxes or her cage.

For the other 2,they manage to run out of the safe room,and when i get them,i really "man handled" them in the hard way by grabbing them really hard,and the male, i pull him by the leg to get him back to the "safe room" as i know that they are not ready to explore.i know what i did was soo wrong that i feel so sad,guilty,talked to them and apologise after i treated them that way. :( :(.

What should i do?i know they will remember what i did to them, and i'm so sorry because i'm new to bengal cat and kitten.

How can i gain their trust back?and to let them know that i'm not a bad person.

Welcome to the forum. You need to step back and breathe! These new young babies are stressed out right now. First they were taken away from their mom and other siblings. Second, they are coming to a home with cats they are not familiar with.

Since you have a very large cat family, the introductions to the other members of your family will have to go super slow. The one thing you need to do is to stop trying to man-handle the kittens. They are already terrified and stressed. Someone grabbing at them is only going to compound the situation. For the time being, the cats need to be in their safe room exclusively.

Bengals do not generally enjoyed being handled and if these were kept caged, they are probably not well socialized with humans. Thus, it is up to you to change this. However, with such a large cat family, finding time may be difficult. This equates to someone with seven children -- one gets a lot less attention than another.

I'm thrilled you love cats, but you'll just have to be patient with these last three. They are going to need a lot more time with you, in the safe room with them, sitting on the floor, talking with them. Soon they will gain the confidence and stop hiding. Will they ever all get along? Probably not! A Maine Coon is completely opposite of a bengal, so I would make sure the Maine Coon isn't bullied or attacked.

Syaiful, yes welcome to the forum. My comments:
1) since you already have other cats, definitely you have their smell on you which may be scaring the Bengals away.
2) having all these Bengals together in one room, reduces your chances to bond with them quickly as they're likely bonding with each other instead.
3) having more than one newly adopted Bengal in one room, is not a good idea. I'd separate each in an isolated room.
4) spend some time with each Bengal alone in a room doing nothing but sitting there at first while reading a newspaper, or using your iPad without approaching the Bengal so each gets used to you without thinking you're a threat. Then start playing with each using a Cat Dancer. Do this repeatedly few times a day with each Bengal separately. Do NOT try to hold / grab your Bengal at this stage. The most you can do is pet their head if they allow you, preferably after playtime.
5) after doing the above successfully, in other words the Bengal is no more scared of you, you may start introducing each to the others through smell, food time behind a barrier... etc. the known steps.
6) having this number of cats in a household means they'll eventually bond more with each other than with you. That's a good thing still, as you don't want them to fight each other.

MUST HAVE:
1) Food and water bawl for each cat, apart from each other.
2) litter boxes = number of cats + 1.
3) Tree Mansions, one for each cat.
4) toys, balls, feathers... etc.
5) Cat Dancers.

Wow you have taken on a big job here! As was mentioned above, you will need to separate all the cats for now, and spend equal time with them. As you visit each cat, your scent and the scent of the other cats will begin to blend into a 'community scent'. It is this community scent that allows a group of cats to coexist and bond together.

Sorry for the double photo.all of them are female,as i can't manage to find my male bengal.he just disappear when i was sleeping.he was there the night before.but gone in the morning. The other female is silver in colour.will try to upload the pic soon
