He's just goofing off. I don't think he's distressed or particularly nervous or whatnot. He's exploring his surroundings and doing a little monologuing, mostly for your benefit. I've seen my cats do that a lot. It's a variation of what are sometimes call "the zooms".

When I see kittens do stuff like that I kind of think of how in Charlie Brown how Snoopy has this fantasy of being this ace pilot and shooting down all these enemies and sweeping female dogs off their feet, when in reality what he's doing is sitting on top of his doghouse. It's like Neko sees himself as this big vicious predator, in some big serious life and death adventure when what he's really doing is running and jumping around the laundry room Bengal kittens love to goof off, and it doesn't always make much sense to an outsider like us.

He's being a typical ratbag bengal/cat. Enjoy this behaviour, it can be highly amusing

He looks like a normal kitten to me. Nothing unusual or to be worried about. How long has he been in the safe room? Maybe he wants to see where you go when you leave.

My cat Blondie always has a question mark tail. I never saw that before. I read that it means the cat is happy and playful. She races around and turns everything into a game. she is always up for play and mischief. Grace always has her tail up in an upside down J.

Oh, you poor thing. Matt, you are never a bother here. I am sorry if I'm chuckling here. You have a bengal! This is normal behavior for a bengal kitten. Hang in there .... you'll get used to it and the zoomies. Miko is super curious and into everything -- so typical of a bengal kitten.

I've been thinking ( never a good sign, I know :-) )

Could one of us drop a bengal or two around to Matt's place to give Miko a crashing course on being a bengal kitten ? If he was closer, I'd offer up Ada and Babbage. If they don't behave themselves, I might just stick a postage stamp on each of them anyway.

102 - Washing baskets - prison or fort or both ?
103 - does it bounce? using gravity on random "toys"
104 - finding out how expensive something used to be by reading human body language
105 - Is a clothes hanger in the correct place a clothes hanger in the wrong place ?
106 - trashing toys - weak points and methodologies

I'm sure some of you could recommend some more basic training courses to get Miko up to speed and drift round the corners of being a bengal cat based on the mischief your's got up to as kittens ??

So i feel a little embarassed that i didnt know about the zoomies before getting Miko. I researched a lot about health and breeders but didnt think to research about a bengal's breed specific behaviour. After searching on here for "zooms", I actually found some really great info and have started to greatly enjoy my Miko's zoom moments.

A tiny update: he's now freely roaming the house whenever we are home. Soon we will leave the safe room door open at night too, just waiting on some bitter apple spray for some wires around the house (last thing we need to kitty proof i think).

He's been very comfortable outside progressively better each day, and he has even found his favorite spot to take naps now (on a comfy chair under a table). AND Miko finally ate some dry food! Ziwi peak! At first he showed no interest, but after a long play session, I tried hand feeding just one piece of the ziwi peak and after the first one, he couldnt resist! He cleaned off the entire plate!! :) :)

And oh i forgot, cranberry.. Todays discovery for Miko are curtains LOL. He probably attempted to climb or claw every single one today, so i have some more scratching posts to-be-built in the near future. Too funny seeing him discover all the new things in my house. He climbed onto the piano wanting to get to some picture frames at the top ledge but as soon as he climbed up the piano keys, they made a loud noise and i sent him scattering off LOL.

My little ones discussion has been

My guys didn't need a course on destroying automatic feeders! I was worried about Jagger's SureFeeder this week as I'd put a webbox cat stick in there for him as Hendrix had one, but they are Hendrix's favourite treats so he was having a serious go at breaking in to Jagger's feeder... didn't manage it though (phew!). He's never done that before. School girl error on my part.

I also giggled at the piano incident - a video is required

Course 101 on...
Climbing curtains to the curtain pole and then getting down via your human's face and scarring them for life.
Jumping on human's head when they are cleaning out the litter trays, lose balance and fall into said litter tray with most of human's scalp.
Removing human's glasses from face and running off with them.

Just realised all of the above were Hendrix - Jagger is an angel in comparison!!! Although Jagger did a very thorough course in deliberately knocking over vases and glasses - but he does give a very loud meow first to warn you he's going to do something you won't like - unfortunately I don't always manage to get there in time... I think Jagger has probably earned a first class honour on that course!
