Have recently moved house and finally have a garden. I can't bear not letting my two, two year old bengals outside in some capacity, however I don't think the normal cat fences or rollers will work with my two as they are crazy!!

Has anyone created a full garden enclosure at all? I don't want them to be caged in a run so we want to build it so it's like the entire garden is enclosed??

Any thoughts?? Thank you

You can do a full garden enclosure but unless you actually have a "roof" limiting their escape, they can climb fences. That is why many people add the rollers or the Purrfect fence to their existing fences. Cats can jump to the top of a fence in one leap. There is nothing wrong with marking off a section of your garden and put an enclosure there. How much room do the cats need? We have a 12'x12' enclosure on our deck that is plenty big for our bengal. Of course, he still gets two walks a day.

Google "cat enclosures" and you will find thousands of pictures and ideas. To do an entire garden with a "roof" means posts for support. I truly think you will find something online that will work for you and not use up your entire garden space. Trust me, I've thought about enclosing my entire back yard including the "sky" part -- but know it would be expensive and impractical. Cats are a lot smaller than humans and don't need that much room for exploring.

Most of the cat-proof systems are tested! I'm sure there is a cat or two who may have escaped. If your garden is fenced in, it is much easier to place something on top. I've just discovered the roller system but have not researched it. Other cat proofing is to add fencing at the top that pivots so that if the cat gets up there, the cat is gently dropped back down to the ground. I'm sure there are cat owners who have wired or put netting across the sky of their garden. It will attract leaves, branches, etc. that will need to be cleaned.
