Hi, just after a few ideas for entertaining a 14 week old bengal kitten. We have every toy going (and alternate them) but especially in the evenings she insists on climbing curtains etc. she is not refined to one room and explores the whole house- but at night she will be wherever we are. She has time in the day where she is left on her own and she is fine, and most of the time she is great but in the evenings she is really hard work.

I find the best toy for tiring them out is da bird or flying frenzy they are both the same kind of wand toy with a feather on the end, you can buy different attachments for it aswell.

I make them run and jump until they are panting then rest for a couple of minutes and repeat again several times ( you may have to run with the toy to make her run faster).

I find then give them their meal they will groom and sleep.

Serafina is my turbo kitty, and she enjoys jogging on her wheel, climbing up and down the hicat, chasing laser pointers, and especially hunting dabirds/ neko flies/flying frenzy toys.

Neytiri mostly enjoys hunting the mouse attachments for dabird and flying frenzy, or playing fetch with poofy little mice toys plus chasing these little wool toys that a friend made for her.

It sounds like you've got a climber. Make sure to give her approved climbing opportunities in the rooms that you spend most of your time. Serafina climbed the curtains a few times too, but after I installed a tall cat tree, a hicat, and some cat shelves in the living room, she made up her own mind that these other things are much more fun.

Does anyone have one of those star shower laser lights that are so popular this Holiday season? You plug it in and point it at the house and when it gets dark the laser lights start swirling around like fairy dust. I have one on my patio under the roof line so the ceiling is covered with little green swirling dots and it shines out to the top of the screens and into my living room. The cats love it and at first chased the dots around now they lay down out there with the cool green fairy dust swirling all around and just grin with happiness. You leave it plugged in so it shines all night and turns off in the day light. I love the atmosphere it creates on my patio.

If she loves to climb, make sure she has a tall cat tree with scratching posts, multiple platforms and maybe even a condo. That should keep her away from the curtains. Bengal kittens have boundless energy. You will wear out long before they do! My 9-year old bengal can get crazy in the evenings, too. It's what a bengal does!

It's actually very effective to combine the two activities (play hunting and climbing). Bird goes up the tree/pole/shelves, cat goes up, bird comes down, cat goes down. Your cat will be spent in just a few minutes. It's like Jackson Galaxy says: speed not endurance for bengals. Then let them catch it in the end and you'll have a happy cat, very pleased with themselves all splayed out on the carpet like roadkill

Do you have a cat tree? Bengals tend to like to be high up and her climbing the curtains may just be a symptom of wanting to be up high looking down on everything.

We find that in the evening our Bengals (if they aren't on the bed with us) tend to move from high spot to high spot - like down one tree and up another.

Thank you for all the advice! Tried to avoid the massive cat furniture but think I'm going to get her a climbing tree. Got her every toy under the sun but she has cero attention- unless it's climbing curtains!

Bengals love to climb, so I think at least one tree is a must. And getting a tree means that you can direct them to climb something other than the curtains, before it is curtains for the curtains. :-)

You can get a simple and very sturdy pole or more from Petfun.de - their stuff stays looking good, after 2 years of a couple of bengals swinging off them mine still look like new.

I agree about the Armarkat cat trees. They make various sizes. I have very chopped up wall space in my house, so I found one with a 30" base and it's over 70" high and Raiden loves it. It is also very well made. I would not recommend North American as I have one of theirs and it's not very solid (and more expensive than the Armarkat). Mollie and Friends makes incredible, but expensive, trees. I got a shorter one for Raiden and put it in front of the window. I'm sure you can find one that has a small footprint but is high enough that your kitty will enjoy it.
