Help... I have A4 year old Bengal that I've had since he was 6 weeks old. He's always been a little skittish and I cannot touch him or pick him up he has a weird attachment to the alpha male of the house he will follow him from room to room and will not leave him alone and cries if he cannot find him. the problem we have is he is attacking all the cats by the neck even his buddy and the other cats starts screaming like he's killing them I don't know what to do with him we have 5 kids total 4 males 1 female all are fixed

It sounds very much like something has happened in / around the house to upset the balance. Have any of the cats been to the vet very recently? If so, get a chamoise leather and damp it down. Then rub all the cats over several times with it to spread the same scent throughout the whole group.

Could the female actually be pregnant? Have you introduced a new cat / other pet recently? Is there a tom cat in the neighbourhood that is spraying in / near the house? When you say alpha male - I assume you mean cat not human? Has this cat been in a fight recently?

Have you spoken to the children in case they know what has happened? It is possible one has accidentally trodden on the boy, and upset him to the point of traumatised. He would take time to adjust back to 'normal' and feel he has to defend himself.

It may simply be that he has reached maturity and decided to be top cat himself, and you will need help to control the aggression - Get some Feliway diffusers and plug them in around the house, anywhere the cats go. Do you have sufficient litter trays? 1 per cat plus 1 spare..

It may be that something has completely upset the balance, and you may need to isolate and re-introduce the Bengal to the others over a period of several weeks.

Welcome to our forum. It is really difficult to know what has gone on in your bustling household that has changed the balance for the kitties. In a multi-cat household, there is always the alpha cat -- the head honcho of the brood. You did get your kitty way too early, but now that he is 4 years old, he should have long settled in. IF this is new behavior, the first thing I would do is take him to the vet to have him checked out and explain the situation to them and see if they have any recommendations. A cat who goes for the jugular is trying to basically kill the cat. Bite into that vein and the cat bleeds to death rapidly. Thus you need to stop that type of aggression.

Outside of that, make sure each cat has its own territory in your home. Multiple cat trees, 6 litter boxes, multiple feeding stations (hopefully, they don't all eat out of the same bowl). Human interaction is required for bengals. They need more attention and stimulation than your normal cat. So play with the bengal and wear him out. You try different things to see if it helps the situation. You want to make sure your other cats do not lose their confidence by being attacked and bullied. That will lead to behavioral issues that you do not want to have. If everything fails, then you may simply have to find a new home for him. That should always be a last resort, but the balance in the household needs to be on an even keel. Stress is never good for humans or the kitties.

There is a key question here - is he going for the top of the neck or the bottom of the neck? i.e. the scruff or the jugular?

The scruff (the top of the neck) is a very typical play / dominance situation with Bengals and is used to show one cat that they are in charge of the other. With cats this is acceptable behaviour and you should try to let this go on if you can. Unless one of them is really getting hurt, this has to work itself out in the long run.

The jugular (the bottom of the neck) is aggressive and dangerous and needs to be stopped. If this is the behaviour you are seeing, you are the alpha of the house and whenever this behaviour happens you need to scruff him (pick him up by the scruff and hold him for 5-10 seconds) and move him away; making sure that he's aware that it's no acceptable behaviour. This should work exceptionally well if your cat still has kitten behaviours. Basically you are treating him like his mother and teaching him that this is bad / wrong behaviour.

I think it is interesting that the alpha cat is not shutting down the little one for this behavior. Cats are very tolerant of what the young ones do, but the adults will draw boundaries. If the alpha cat is not reacting to this behavior the little one thinks its okay to do. Kittens just keep pushing boundaries until someone pushes back. So I agree with the other poster saying you may have to be the alpha here.
