So, Nala has always been more outgoing and less shy than Kira. I think that because she is a beautiful show quality rosette, she got picked up and held a lot more than her marbled sister when they were still at breeders, certainly Kira doesn't seem to be used as much to humans.
Anyway. I have taught Nala for a couple of weeks now to take titbits out of my hand or even from just the tip of my fingers, but Kira would have none of it. When I rattle the bag, they both come running, but I had to put Kira's in front of her, as she would refuse it otherwise (and then her sister would come and try to nick it!)
Well, as of last night, Kira took food both from my palm and my fingers, so I am very happy about that.
She still meowed in protest and struggled out of my arms when I tried to pick her up*, but, it's progress nevertheless. I'll get there, lol.
* The rest of the family is having far fewer difficulties in socialising with them, I suspect they've sussed out I'm the bad guy in charge of worming, flea control and all the other unpleasant parts! And I haven't even tried to clip their claws yet!!!
