For the last weeks, ishka, the little one has become a bit of a greedy piggy; when we play with feathers she grabs them in her mouth and growls and hisses... and tries to also get at the other feather toys I use so that her sister doesn't get bored - literally fitting all in mouth and paws and making sure sister (big one) doesn't play... she is such a Gollum!

This morning she has started doing the same with... rubbish from our paper basket. You should have seen her with a furball (from her sister, who I had just brushed) in her mouth, looking at the sister and growling "miiine"!

Are yours also that bad at sharing?

Raiden has the same growl when we are walking and I want him to get moving and he doesn't want to move. Or I want him to come into the house and he doesn't want to. It must mean they are not happy about something and want you to know it. Your babies are beautiful!!!

I saw the same behaviour in a rescue cat that we had - nicknamed Huffy The Bunnyslayer - when he had caught a fresh meal. It seems to communicate "my kill, no sharing" and is more about front - growl and make plenty of scary noise, but without showing any actual agression, to keep from having to fight over what has been "caught".

It seems that the other cat is not affected by the behaviour in the video, so I wouldn't be too concerned about it as things stand.

My cats fight over toys, places to sit and sleep and lizards. They came spilling into the living room over the weekend hissing and biting and there were a couple of other little fights in the days that followed. Suddenly Grace started taking her nap behind my living room chair on a table that is right by my head. Then Blondie stopped sleeping on my lap when I sat in that chair. Now Blondie is no longer sleeping by my head in the bed, but on a soft bed in front of the window on the floor. Grace has started sleeping in the watch tower up by the ceiling making sure Blondie doesn't get on the bed. It will eventually wear off and Blondie will sneak back into the bed and in my arms in the living room. They go through phases and Grace gets jealous when Blondie gets too clingy towards me, then she punishes her and Blondie keeps her distance from me.

In the morning Babbage will bother me over breakfast and Ada will go off and do something, then Babbage will go for a snooze and it'll be Ada's time to come and "help" me do whatever I am doing.

In the evenings Babbage will bounce up on my lap - when he is there she never comes up. Then he'll get down and she'll have 20-30 mins of padding/strokes before going off, which is the signal for him to come back up.

I suspect that they have a timesheet posted up somewhere, but so far I haven't found it.

My two have learnt to timeshare too. The cat tree that caused much angst when it first arrived, Jagger now uses it during the day and then Hendrix in the evening. Jagger then gets time with me on the footstool.

Hendrix bothers me all morning while I'm trying to get ready for work, Jagger will go off and do his thing and then will pop in when Hendrix finally goes out and has a cuddle with me.

Funny how they learn to share!
