I am importing a Khao Manee from Thailand. She will be 4 months+ when I get her. I currently have my Bengal, Sheena, who is 15 months, and my Bombay, Ripley, who just turned two. Has anyone here ever introduced a kitten to their bengal? What can I expect? I'm worried. I'm not worried about my other cat.....just my Bengal. Thx!

You are actually the best person to predict how things will go because you know your existing cats. How do they treat each other? How do they react when they see another cat (outside or wherever). My two bengals had very different reactions when I introduced them to Neytiri (Neytiri was 13 weeks or so and the bengals were 6mo old). Gaga thought it was great to have a kitten, and took a very motherly attitude. She played amazingly gently, snuggled next to her, licked her, and just adapted amazingly at first sight. Not Serafina though. Serafina made it real clear she was very unhappy with the intruder with hisses and growls and general aggression. But fortunately that lasted only a week or so. I think though if I were to introduce a new kitten to her now, at age 5, there would probably be hell to pay. Serafina is by far the bossyist cat I've had. She even scolds me by growling or chirping at me when I do something she doesn't like (getting up when she is snoozing on or next to me, when I sneeze, run the vacuum etc).

I think you just have to look at it expecting some "drama" and having the confidence and perseverance to work through it if and when it happens. A few weeks of some cat drama is nothing in the overall scheme of things, and it may go better than you think.

Thank you for the reply. They've never seen other cats besides each other. I'm praying things go well. There's no turning back once I get her. Sheena was once a happy-go-lucky cat, but lately she seems restless and unsettled. She rarely plays and seems most pre-occupied with food. I thought a kitten would be good for her. She actually seems bored. I have a cat wheel and she never goes on it. She's always looking outside, longing to go out. My cats are both indoor cats. My other cat will play with toys, but not Sheena.

That is tough. I let my cats out on a screened in patio in the morning and evening. Lately Grace wakes me up with a cute little meow in my ear letting me know that 4am is the perfect time to be on the patio. Last night she didn't want to come inside. I had to chase her around to patio for 10 minutes begging her to come in. I could never keep them entertained inside 24/7. I can't compete with birds, squirrels, ducks, raccoons, lizards and iguanas. Blondie will opt to follow me around the house more than Grace. The one thing that they both love to play with and will walk away from food for are cat spring toys. They like the big ones and ignore the small ones. They bounce and roll and cary them around in their mouth. They chase each other to take it away and after they loose it under the sofa, they stand in front of me wanting another. There are easily 100 under sofas and furniture in my house.

Khao Manees are beautiful cats! Since your bengal is a female, she may not be as territorial as a male would. Naturally, you do the whole "safe room" thing, swap scents, eventually feed them all together in the same area, play with them individually in the same room, watch for signs of aggression when you get them together.

You know your bengal better than anyone. Adding a new kitty can always be challenging. Most times it goes extremely well. Naturally, you need another litter box. Probably another cat tree. Whether this kitten will stimulate play in Sheena remains to be seen. Good luck!!!!! Can't wait to see pictures.
