Okay guys, so I did my research and found a reputable breeder in my area and just brought my beautiful baby home this Sunday, (3 days ago). However I think i just need some reassurance. I know I have read that this is normal, it would calm my nerves to hear it from other bengal owners. SO, when I brought Scarlett home, (Scarlett being the kitten) she immediately ran and hid under my bed. I confined her to a small area like I read, and we have play time and all that good jazz. Unfortunately she is still scared of different things. When I walk into the room she runs and hides, but then comes out almost like she forgot she didn't have to be scared? We snuggle at night, and she's very affectionate towards me, but she still seems scared, and wont let new people touch her without running. Sometimes she get's so scared she shakes. I know it's only been a couple days, but I just want her to be comfortable, and I want to make sure I'm doing this right.

P.S. I've tried to attached some pictures of her because she's just too cute. I'm not sure how all this works yet, so I doubt they show up.

Hopefully things have improved and I don't know how I didn't see this post earlier! It's so common for a new kitten to hide. They are terrified and stressed out at the new environment and it takes time -- maybe weeks for them to completely adjust. The hiding is their "safe place." I'm sure by now she has come out from hiding and is enjoying being a member of your family.
