You can not determine an F generation from just looking at a bengal, unless it's an early generation bengal. Yes, my head spins trying to get into another 10 generations from Suri's 5 generations and my eyes give out on me, but I do try to work every day on Suri's pedigree and I will double check everything before I give you the info. Some cats have a dead end -- says "unknown" for the parents and grandparents, so not knowing that F generation that cat is, I have to go with the other cat, so the pedigree may not be precise. I won't know all of that until I get to the end. Feliz is one and I've tried researching him. Based on his registration number, he is supposed to be an F1. When in doubt, I try to Google and see if I can find something out. For some unknown reason -- Rorschach of Millwood should be an F1 -- daughter of a Centerwall ALC and a domestic short-haired tabby. However, some websites state Millwood Praline and Millwood Pennybank are F1s. Not sure how that can be when they are daughters of Rorschach of Millwood and should be F2's. The F generation is the number of generations removed from the ALC, so how they are skipping over a clearly F1 (although unregistered), I don't know. There is one website that lists Rorschach as an F1. Suri has several ALCs in her pedigree and I'll try to list them all for you so you know. The shortest link back to Suri's ALC may not be the Centerwall ALCs, so Rorschach may not play into that picture. The majority of bengals come from the Millwood lineage since Jean Mill is credited with starting the bengal breed--even though Rorschach was given to Jean Mill from William Centerwall.

I'm sure many of you are confused! The bengal breed is confusing! But, when you go back and see that ALC in the pedigree, it is exhilarating. It may be another couple of weeks before I get done with Suri's pedigree.

Unfortunately, with Suri's pedigree, the final cat is an F2 but is not listed in the bengal pedigree database. It's ironic because Destinybengals have a lot of their cats listed, but not that one, so no way of knowing which ALC is in that mix. The database is not affiliated with any registration organization. Volunteers have put the information in and breeders and owners can add their own information. In order to get a complete pedigree, all the ancestry cats need to be in there or you get "unknown" and the search ends there.

All of our bengals came from an Asian Leopard cat -- so there are many different ones in our kitties. Raiden has five -- mostly the Centerwall ALC's which could be several different ones, since William Centerwall wasn't truly sure of what he was doing back then and he was not trying to specifically start a new breed of cat.

When my cats were kittens, they tried to jump on the counter where the sink and stove are located. They both slid down after trying several times. They gave up and settled for the island counter with bar stools. That must have stuck in their heads because they have never gone on the counter with the sink.

Maybe Suri will give up on jumping over the gate because of what happened the first time.

Not all cats are graceful! Raiden sometimes slips off the back of the couch which is 5" wide. Know, too, Deputy that you have no idea how serious Suri's cataracts are -- they may be preventing her from seeing clearly.

Happy to hear the potty incidents have stopped, Deputy! I am a huge human klutz, so I'm guessing cats can be as well. I trip over my own feet! I stumble on even ground. If there are stairs -- look out! LOL. Suri is still little. She may improve a bit. I do think it is ironic because nobody can tell what Suri's vision is like except Suri! I hope the cataracts hold their own for a very long time. I don't know if they do surgery on kitties like they do humans.

Caitlinmarie is right -- we have special kitties. Depth perception is a huge thing with cats. Sounds like Pixel's needs a little fine tuning.
