We returned from holiday this week and the first day back, I was looking out at the garden and saw Jagger bouncing around on the lawn. Nothing unusual there, he looked like he was chasing leaves which is one of his favourite pastimes. It wasn't very windy though and something fluttered by him and he pounced again. I still didn't think much of it, and wandered back in doors. A couple of minutes later, Jagger strutted in and seemed as proud as punch about something and when I looked closer, he had feathers caught in his whiskers...
I still didn't really believe he had caught anything, the most either of them have caught so far are butterflies, but just on the off chance I went outside to where he was playing and lo and behold there was a dead bird!
He laid down with his prize and looked so proud! I think it was probably more luck than any hunting skill and the bird hadn't seen him and landed nearby. I think the bird died of shock as there was no blood shed and he certainly didn't try to eat it, I actually think he thought it was his flying frenzy the way he flicked it around.
He wasn't very happy when my OH removed his kill for burial though and attacked him lol
