248634_1917657295820_7877159_n.jpg Hello! My name is Andrea and I have a 10 year old bengal cat named Zoey. It's a boy- please don't ask why his name is Zoey my sister named him!! Anywho, I'm 20 years old and Zoey and I come from a family of five plus him and our Golden Retriever Sam. I've noticed after being in college for two years that when I go away (I'm his favorite by a lot), Zoey gets almost like in a 'sick' state. He will throw up, sometimes even not eat, and get kinda skinny and just be not his crazy usual self. We've taken him to vets for this multiple times but have always been told his blood and such came back normal. About 2 months ago it happened again and they put him on an antibiotic and anti-nausea medicine that seemed to help for a second but that was when he really seemed sick. Last week my dad and the dog went out of town and so did I, which are all of his favorite people. My mom called telling me he refused to eat dinner and was acting very tired which is weird for him. When I came home he was meowing like crazy to me and I could get him to eat a little bit but he ended up throwing it all up the next morning. After being home for a few days he has thrown up less and got excited/ate his dinner like he usually does although he still isn't fully his psycho crazy self yet. I was just wondering if thats common for bengals to get extremely attached and be so sick when your gone because he fluctuates like this ever since I have moved to college (I come home a lot and I am home for summer) and what I can do to help make it less severe for him. I believe this Saturday's episode of My Cat From Hell will deal with separation anxiety! It is a real thing and it seems that's what your kitty is suffering from. I think older kitties can have it worse. Now that you are home for the summer, observe the kitty. If he behaves eats normal, then I'd say that's the issue. Bengals will attach themselves to one person and it looks like that person is you. I think what needs to happen is the other people in the household need to be spending more time with your kitty. Play time, petting. He may get that already, but when you leave again in the fall for college, the anxiety will more than likely come back.

It may be worth the money to try it out and see if there is any improvement. However, I do feel that a lot more interaction from the rest of the family will also help. And, eventually, you'll graduate. Good luck.
