Does anybody else's bengal have a funny behaviour when using their litter trays? We have had Seb for 3 months now and he holds his pee's in and waits until we are there before he goes! We have left him for 8 hours a few times and as soon as we get home he goes in his tray and has the biggest pee's! He must hold them in and just wait for us, we have never come home to find a pee in his tray! Is this normal behaviour or just our Seb being his usual crazy self!?

When litter training him did you reward him with treats each time he went? If so maybe he is associating your being there to watch him with getting a treat and if you aren't there to watch him he may not get 1? I dunno its just a thought

No, we never rewarded him with treats, we always pet him and say 'good boy' when he goes though. We had problems at first with his toilet behaviour, he wouldn't go in his tray and had a few accidents. Now, Every morning without fail he goes in his tray when we have woken up to witness it. He just won't pee without us there haha. Strange kitty

Raiden will wait as long as 12 hours before going. I'll come home from work and there is nothing in his litter box. And he will usually be asleep by dark and he'll go all night without peeing. I know he prefers to hold it so he can wait and mark the outdoors when we go on our walk. He does leave some huge urine clumps in the litter box.

Maybe it is just the praise he is craving for when going to the toilet then maybe he thinks he won't get praise if you dont witness him do it. So long as he is going in the litterbox and not around the house then happy days huh.
