We have 2 nearly 6 month old Bengals, brother and sister. Obviously before we homed them we did our research and knew what we were going into... They have always been very clingy with me, following me from room to room and waiting outside rooms for me which I can deal with.

The last few weeks have been slightly different, now if we (especially I) go in the toilet or somewhere where they cannot access (door shut) they are at the door howling away and now... scratching the carpets, doors and doorframes. Is there any way or any ideas to combat this? I can deal with the talking but the scratching I would like to minimise?

They will eventually be allowed outside, so maybe that will help? Although, they do have a ridiculous amount of toys, beds and cat tress... #spoilt

I don't close my bathroom door. Sometimes Raiden is in there with me and it's not a problem. Cats are prone to scratch doors when they are kept out. I don't know how you prevent it without opening the door for them. As for letting them outside, are you sure you live in a safe enough area for them to roam free. They may not always stick around your home and venture outward. Do you have dogs roaming the neighborhood? Other cats that could cause injuries due to fights? Do you have neighbors who may not like cats going through their yard who will take them and relocate them if not worse. Do you care if your kitties vanish without a trace and you can't find them? There are ways to keep your kitties safe and allow them to enjoy the outdoors. I know you have two of them, but I do walk Raiden with a harness and leash. He also has a cat enclosure on our deck that he can access 24/7 that puts him outdoors. If you do want to let your kitties venture outdoors, they should be supervised at all time. I've read several posts on here where bengals were found deceased (after an altercation with a dog and a horse) or actually stolen from one's yard. I'm not trying to scare you, it's just there are dangers out there for the kitties.

My bathroom/ bedroom door is always left unlatched because of this. BB will jiggle the door handle if it's shut and then proceed to scratch and scream at the door. She only does this to me, because I give in and let her in. She doesn't do it to any of my kids or my husband. It is annoying at times but with 4 kids I can never use the bathroom or shower without someone slinging the door open. It must be a cat thing to hate closed doors, we can't shut any interior door without BB going Bananas.
