My work colleague recently took on a rescue female Bengal. She is neutered and is around 14 months old. She uses her litter tray during the day which is cleaned straight away but at night she wees anywhere but her tray! On the bench, in the bath, bath mats etc.. Any ideas?

Yes! Place a second litter box where she tends to go at night. People may not always care about a box in the bathroom, but they should have two litter boxes regardless -- one per cat and an extra one. I watched an episode of My Cat From Hell where a cat urinated all over the apartment. Jackson Galaxy had them put a litter box in every location -- they ended up with SEVEN of them. Then they had to put a sticker on the box each time the cat used it. They slowly took the ones used less than the others away and they ended up with three and the cat now goes in the litter boxes. I'm guessing this cat is an only cat. Multi-cat households frequently have this problem. Cats are fastidious creatures and prefer to use the litter box to cover their urine and feces. There is a reason the cat is not using the litter box at night. Maybe it can't see well enough in the dark house to find the litter box. If putting the second box in doesn't work, then I'd suggest the cat get checked out by the vet just to make sure everything is okay.

Hello it is my cat which is weeing on the floor, since reading on this forum I have bought her a 2nd litter tray which is large and she still has the regular size tray, I have put them both together in the downstairs toilet. I also read somewhere to put bowls of food where the cat has soiled in the house as to discourage it from going there again.
She has been dry for a few days but this morning was meowing for me to get up from 7am til 7.30. She managed to wake my daughter who opened my bedroom door. The cat came in with her and promptly wet on the ensuite bath mat. I don't belive there is any thing wrong with the cat as she is a fantastic hunter and I have put night lights downstairs for her to see around easier plus she will often come in from outside to use her trays. I don't know what more I can do with her
The reason I have been ignoring her miaows is because she had been doing it at 5am everyday and I was getting up and letting her out but sometimes she didn't even want to go out so me getting up was just reinforcing that I would jump out of bed whenever she likes.
