Ok here it is..
I have a bengal "midori" most probably rem me posting here when looking for info about her when she was really shy and hiding all the time
we had 2 other domestic cats...Midori and them have been all together for a year now...the landlord came and told us we had 24 hours to get rid of 2 of the cats...we had chosen the other 2 as they would have a better chance of having a home(with alot of heartache)
the problem is now Midori is doing nothing but "crying" and omg she is actually sitting in the middle of the floor whinning..I know this sounds nuts but we have not heard a whine like this from any other cat..we still cant get close enough to her to pet and love her...
my question is can she become depressed??
and can this harm her??

P.S. the other 2 cats was were she got all her companionship from as she is still way to shy to get it from us..

Awww god bless the poor little girl.....I've got to say that I think your landlord stinks!

If your home was nice and clean I don't see what he has to moan about.....sorry but that just my opinion.

Anyways she'll calm down in a short while and no doubt she'll be a bit more affectionate too.....Our girls cry for each other when ones away visiting a stud or at a show so I know the particular whine that your on about.....Just give her plenty of cuddles if she'll accept them and lots of special treats to take her mind off it.....Bengals feelings are just as delicate as humans and Midori just needs some time to adjust!

Grrrr, what a nasty landlord How about we go round there and say he has to get rid of 2 of his kids

Our 2 make that "whine" when one can't find the other, I can't imagine how upset they'd be if they was separated permanently. I'm sure she'll eventually come round, just give her as much attention as she'll let you

Yes I have to agree he had NO reason in making us get rid of them...but the neighbors are young (and probably have friends looking for a place lol)

it has been 3 days today and Midori is so lost she hides in the basement all day and when it is just us home she just lies around and whimpers,,and her eyes lost that big shine they had.

We talked to the vet and she said give her a few more days then bring her in they mentioned "Valium"(spelling) will this hurt her?
She is still very shy and all I wanna do is pick her up and snuggle...NO chance of that happening!!

I wouldn't give her any drugs to calm her down.....Thats would just be a tempory cure for her heartache which might stress her out even more.

The poor girl is probably thinking shes the next to go.....She'll be fine when she figures out she's staying and things should resume to how they were before with any luck.....Maybe it's best if you left her in the basement for a few more days!

Does she feel thats safest place down there.....is it her decision to be in the basement?

Good luck with her anyways and also please pass on my warmest regards to the landlord from hell and warn him that I'm only a short plane ride away from him.......Midori stays put or he feels meemonkeys wraith!

yes it is her choice to hide down there...we do not have a door on the basement so she is free to go there she gets up and hides behind the pipes down there...

I will be sure to tell him that you will be on the way if she goes..
we talked and we are thinking if she dont come out of it we will look for a new place...just so she can have a companion to be with her

I posted a new pic of her in the photo part of the forrum...hard to believe she is a yr old now lol
