Hi guys, long time since I have posted anything. Hope everyone is well.
So I've had Finnegan a little over 3 months now and everything seemed to be going fine. Until the other day when I went to change a light bulb in the spare room where I had to step on the guest bed to get to it. And there I was standing in pee
So naturally I am pretty angry with this discovery, take off the blanket and get to the sheets and notice there are two pee puddles. So I washed the bedding and bought some spray for odor and cleaned it up. The second being more dry and a little larger than the other and the first was still pretty wet probably done not long before I got there.
So here is my dilemma, I am not 100% sure it is finnegan but my gut tells me it probably is, since he is male and I often catch him pawing at blankets and sort of humping them? If that makes sense he does a little but twitch and his penis come out a little, and he gets his back end really close to whatever it is he is on.
So I haven't changed anything, diet, litter even my own habits of leaving for work and etc. Neither cat is having a hard time using the litter, no blood in the urine and so on. Both have been using the litter like normal. I've observed them the past few days to make sure.
Any ideas on what may have caused this and what should I do?
Since the indecent I have moved their litter box out of the spare room which is in turn they're cat room, litter and some toys and it is where they are locked up if ever need be. I have also since restricted access to beds, so they are no longer able to be in the spare room anymore since I do not want any more pee on the bed again. Also our bedroom door is closed at all times now unless we are sleeping and even then 70% of the time its even closed then.
Also just to mention we did have an accident on the couch 2 weeks prior to this, although the couch already did smell of urine a little since my boyfriends old roommates dog peed on the couch before. And there was a soft blanket that he likes to paw at and "hump" on the seat. So I am thinking that was a seperate issue. That was resolved by sending the cousion to the cleaners and removing the blanket.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Stephanie
