HELP! I've had my boy for little over 3 months now, he's 6 months old. Ever since i've had him, he's like my little shadow, follows me around everywhere and always wants to know what i'm doing. As of recently, i've noticed he's been sleeping an awful lot. He doesn't follow me from room to room or come running when he hears me at the door (something he's always done without fail). He doesn't appear to be sick, he still cuddles when we sleep and comes when called and I think he's eating normally, but he's disinterested in everything that he was previously obsessed with. He doesn't even want to play. He'll start playing then stops and just disappears and I go find him sleeping. People keep telling me that cats sleep all the time and this shouldn't be an issue but it's a huge change in his behaviour and i'm really worried. Should I take him to the vet? Or is this maybe one of his growth spurts that he'll eventually come out of?

That's what happened with our boy and it prompted a trip to the vet - blood work showed he had an infection. I would definitely get him to the vet.

I hope everything turns out to be okay with your baby! Any time you're concerned, it's best to take him to the vet to be checked out -- just in case. I'd rather be safe than sorry! You've noticed a change in behavior and that's not normal in a cat. Your kitty is trying to tell you something -- he doesn't feel right. Keep us posted on how things go.

Hope he's ok - get him to the vet, a young bengal who is not interested in playing is not a happy bengal.
When one of mine got sick he would still have cuddles but the rest of the time he would hide himself away and sleep. A quick trip to the vet sorted him out in no time.

Thank you all for your advice! He had been doing nothing but sleeping so I immediately brought him to the vet when I noticed he hadn't touched his food or water in a couple days. Poor baby had a temp of 104.2! They said he appeared to have URI and sent me home with some antibiotics. Took him a couple days to bounce back but he's made a full recovery and he's back to his mischievous ways!

A cat that is sleeping more, not playing and is off his food needs urgent vet attention.
You were lucky here, but not eating or drinking for "a couple of days" was far too long before you sought medical advice.
