Hey guys! Last week I saw my boy pee in my closet... I didn't think much of it and thought maybe it was a one off incident and asked the vet and she said just keep him away from the closet. Ok so we did. My fiancés closet smelled funky too soo then I figured he did the same thing but we can't find the source of the pee. Well anyways, last night we came home, laid down in bed and smelled pee... I was like what the heck? Well he peed in bed in the crack between the wall and mattress... Now I wonder where else he has peed.
He does go into the litter box, he has one upstairs and downstairs. Both are huge and have lots of litter, he like when they are super fully. We scoop them in the morning and at night. When he whines at us he pretty much gets anything he wants and he plays non stop with his cat sister Nala.
He's not showing any symptoms of being sick.

So my biggest question is; what can I do? I called my vet and they prefer to wait until 6 months to neuter but will do it early if need be. Would you think I should? And if I do neuter, will this stop this behavior or is it now already a habit?

I've never had this issue before with any of my previous cats, granted they aren't bengals and they are girls.

I saw lots of good threads on here about peeing as well but wanted some more personal insight.

To me, from what you said, it sounds like it is more likely spraying rather than some sort of litterbox avoidance problem.

What I'd recommend is:

1. Get a black light, and find the places that he has peed (black lights work amazingly well for that if you haven't used one before).
2. Clean up the pee with enzymatic cleaner.
3. Get some extra litterboxes and put them at/near where he has peed
4. Try using feliway, particularly in the areas where he has sprayed inappropriately
5. Watch him really closely. Is he struggling at all when he is going? Is there any blood? Is he sniffing around the litterbox and deciding to go elsewhere? What else is going on at the time or on the days when he's gone outside the box? Any unusual stressors? The presence or absence of any people or animals that are usually/usually not there? Any calling female cats around the neighborhood or other male cats that he could be worried about "moving in on his territory"? Are there any other changes in his behavior that might give clues?

If all else fails, you can always look up a cat behaviorist and see if they can help.

Many bengals are neutered at 12 weeks! Mine was. However, he still sprays! He's only done it in the house twice and Feliway has helped. He sprays on our daily walks as there are other neighborhood cats around. I'm thinking you need to have him fixed NOW. And that may or may not even help. These boys seem to have strong urges no matter what. My Raiden will hold his urine the entire day I'm gone from work so he has full load to mark the bushes, fences, corner of the house, etc. This is a nasty problem and, for some, it's never solved! Feliway is recommended and you might want to check it out and see if it does help. Cats usually mark for a reason. Stress can be a contributing factor. If your vet gives him a clean bill of health, you can google and find out the various remedies other people have used. This is a very common problem ... and not every solution will work for every cat. I know you're frustrated! Cat urine is the stinkiest odor and it's next to impossible to get rid of it! We once had a cat in kidney failure and she was going everywhere. The only thing that solved our problem was pulling up the carpet and pad and sealing the underfloor with multiple coats of a sealer. I just had a female bengal (at 1 year old) - yes, she is spayed - start spraying. Cleaned up the area, bought Feliway, and the problem stopped within a week. I don't know if Feliway really works or if it was coincidental, but I am happy she stopped and the Feliway is still plugged in the wall

Also, yes, have him neutered right away.

Thanks soo much for all the good suggestions. I did schedule his neuter, unfortunately the earliest date they had was 2 weeks from now. And I will check into feliway, it's just pricy and I don't know if I have to plug one in, in all the rooms? And as for am enzyme cleaner, we haven't found one that successfully gets the smell out. We have also used orange extract to help with the smell with no luck. He apparently peed down the back of our bed and onto the wall and on the floor below and it seems to want to hold in the smell! :[ I do hope that he stops after being fixed but he above story scares me seeing that some of your boys still do it even after the fact! Hope he doesn't!

I bought Comfort Zone Feliway at Petco and it cost a fortune. Amazon has it a whole lot cheaper. They also have a spray for specific areas -- and that spray isn't cheap either. Raiden no longer sprays in the house, but he does spray up against his 3-room house in his enclosure and now the paint is peeling off. I've tried cleaning everything out there and he still does it. Doesn't help that the neighbor's cat comes around just about every day to harass Raiden when he's out there. I need to get rid of the neighbor's cat and things might be perfect.

Sweet! I will check amazon. I did see that petco had an online deal for the refills for cheap but I needed the diffuser ha but now that I have those I will for sure order cheaper elsewhere! They seem to work, knock on wood! And it's so awesome you have an outdoor enclosure for your baby, we want to eventually build one too. :]
