I have a 1 1/2 year old spayed female Bengal. We then decided to get a male 12wk old Bengal kitten about two months ago. When we brought him home, we did the proper introduction down to the T. Aurora, our female, hissed and growled at first, but eventually they began playing and living with each other in relative peace. However, it isn't complete peace. Aurora tolerates the new male. They play and eat together like normal cats, but Aurora doesn't like Titan (our male kitten) in her space. If Aurora is laying on the bed or on the couch with me and Titan jumps up, she hisses for him to go away. If Titan is on her cat tree and she jumps up, she bullies him to go away. If I am in the bathroom and Titan is hanging out on the sink and Aurora walks in, she hisses at Titan to leave. It seems like she is acting territorial and that is my problem. How do I fix it?? Sometimes she and Titan are great together, and others she is a big grouch. Will she always be a sour puss, or have I not given them enough time? Is it because I haven't gotten Titan neutered (He has an appointment to get fixed next week)? Once I neuter Titan, will the problem go away? Is there something I am doing wrong? Please help, because I do not want my older Bengal bullying the younger one forever. Thanks!!
