I wonder if anyone has any tips on stopping your Bengal from whipping your glasses off your face?! I have two brothers, Hendrix and Jagger who are 7 and a half months old. Hendrix has in the last few weeks become absolutely obsessed with my glasses - especially when I'm wearing them - he's become quite the expert at hooking them with his paw off my face and then he runs off with them. I am currently using a very stern 'no' when he starts attempting it now to make it clear I don't like this behaviour. Usually this happens when I'm sat down in the living room but he also loves jumping on your back/shoulders and its very difficult to stop him whipping them off then! He KNOWS what I'm saying to him and I have won on that point a couple of times this week as he's gone off in a sulk and laid on the floor looking at me, or if he's really annoyed he hasn't got his way, he goes behind the TV and purposely pulls out the lead to the sound bar lol

Whilst it is funny and a game to him (he's purring away whilst he tries to steal them), I'm worried he'll catch me unawares one day as he can be a stealthy thing when it suits him and I'm concerned he'll catch my eye with his claws. I already have a couple of scratches on my nose!

It's not that he needs to do this for attention, I give both of them plenty of that and when he comes in the living room with that look of intent I try to distract him by giving him lots of love or engage him in a game on their cat tree - but when he wants your glasses he won't be distracted!

Has anyone else had this problem or have any suggestions how to stop this behaviour? I can't not wear my glasses as I need them! In the meantime I will persevere with the stern 'no' as things have been a bit better this week but if there is a quick fix I'd love to know what it is?

Diesel has taken mine off once and he has only tried a couple of time since then, I think he's just sort of given up in favor of trying to pull my necklace off

Oh well, it was worth asking lol

I'll try to film it, find fame and fortune and then I'll wear a necklace to divert his attention! The OH will be home in May as well (he's in the Navy) so hopefully he'll prefer his glasses to mine!

Had an easy evening though as I've had a friend round they're not overly familiar with and they've been on their best behaviour so I'm making the most of it, although the purring assassin could strike at any time!

I think the names of your bengals say it all -- those hard-partying type of rock stars! LOL. I've never had a problem as I only wear reading glasses and for some reason, Raiden doesn't get near my face. It sounds like Hendrix thinks this is a game and it's fun for him, especially because it gets a reaction from you. When it comes to playing, my Raiden is relentless and wants to play 24/7. I wonder about buying a pair of toy glasses. Do they even have them? Then he can carry them around and maybe think he's actually pulled one over on you. Either that, or I would simply not wear the glasses when he's around -- unless, of course, you can't see very well without them. It takes some training to break a cat out of a habit. This doesn't seem to be a huge problem with bengals, though. Obviously this is Hendrix's quirkiness.

When we first got Jasper he did this several times, it really freaked me out because I didnt fully trust his judgement or his accuracy. I found that if I blew on him he would back up, so thats what I did! If he came to my face to get my glasses I would lightly blow air on him but made a louder huffing noise while doing it. My husband told me it was cruel but I didn't know what else to do. After all he was coming at my eye with nails like talons! Its kinda scary honestly!

Hi Sherry, I did try an old pair of sunglasses but I think he knew I was trying to fob him off and came straight after me again lol

Bkilgore, thank you, I will try that as it is scary and as he's had my nose a few times, I'm very worried about my eyes, his judgement clearly isn't great!

Apart from this little habit though I love their quirkiness, they are lovely boys and great fun to have around!
