Thanks guys. The cat tree we have is very nice, sturdy. He was really excited about a toy mouse on the top level and he rolled off the top, wasn't a sturcture issue, he was just way too excited and wasn't paying attention to how his body was leaning I guess... I've noticed when he jumps into my lap, I often have to catch him because he'll get comfy in a way that has him falling off my lap if I don't hold him up!
I moved the cat tree to over by our window, hoping that bird watching would tempt him to relax there. He did climb up to the mid-level on his own to look out the window. I'll look into enticing him to play and "hide" his toys up there to see if he's comfortable with it. :) Thanks for the advice!
