Please can someone help ! My husband and I have a 2yr old bengal female that is just the sweetest cat ...we are at our wits end ! I have tried everything and she continues to pee on furniture and carpet and poo on the hardwood floor . She even peed on a table in the man cave down stairs ..if I leave a tea towel on the bar she pees on that too ! Honestly there are just too many places to even mention .....we have had her thoroughly checked by our vet several times ...nothing physically wrong ...it is behavioural . She now have a large litter box on every floor which is scooped several times a day ( I work from home )we have changed litter to scent free , dust free.that seemed to alieviate the problem for a few months but then it started again ! We have toys everywhere and kitty condos ...I have done everything I possibly can to make her feel safe and content .
Up until the last week ,the peeing was on the main floor and finished basement but a few days ago I caught her peeing on the carpet under the window of our bedroom On 3rd floor and this morning on a custom upholstered chair in our bonus room upstairs ....I just don't know what else to do ??? I in the past I had scolded her by bringing her back to the pee/poo and saying a firm "NO"then placing her in a litter box ...that didn't help and I realized it was stress causing her to pee .So now I just clean it up and stay calm . We just don't know what else to do ! We love her so much but I cannot continue to allow her to ruin our home . Please help someone !!! Everyone !!!

Good that you stopped scolding her, that won't help. You may need to contact a cat behaviorist to get help. I'm thinking that you may need to just reset things back to the basics: single room access with a litterbox, maybe with the cat-attract litter, maybe buy brand new, unsoiled boxes, one open and one covered to see what her preference is. Then lots of positive reinforcement when she does it right. Also observation, like is she going to the box, sniffing around andthen rejecting it? Or does she just Iimmediately march off to another place to do her business? And when she does go is she in any obious discomfort or straining? Is there any blood or is the stool loose? That's all I've got unfortunately, but there are people who specialize in this kind of thing. Before giving up (and I fully appreciate how hard and frustrating this is), at least give that avenue a try.

There has to be something going on! Cats by nature prefer to use a box, thats why they are trained by instinct at such a young age. You have to find what's winding her up. It may be as simple as moving the box or a different box. Perhaps the litter isn't comfortable to her. My boy will get mad and p*ss all over everything, but he will do the same if given half a chance for no reason at all. Just like last night my son left his towel in the floor after getting a shower, sure enough I picked it up and it was drenched with pee believe me when I say I know how you feel! My main question would be is she declawed, along with the questions Brian has asked.

How could that sweet little face do something like this? She's adorable. I understand how frustrated you are, but your kitty is trying to tell you something -- what it is, only you can figure it out. Since you've had her checked out and she's fine health-wise, then it is behavioral. It sounds like stress which can be set off by something as simple as another cat being outside a window or door. You didn't mention whether you have other pets ... sometimes they can set off a change in a kitty. There are a lot of helpful websites if you google the problem. You just have to try whatever you can. It seems once they get into the habit, it's difficult to break them, but Brian has a great suggestion of limiting the area your bengal has to run around. And be sure to praise her when she does use her litter box.

This sounds kind of ridiculous but I have done this when I have had litter box issues and it has worked:

Put the pee/poo you found in the litter box (don't bury it) and put the cat closed in the room with the litter box. If the cat covers it up, they are probably ok with the litter. When cats get secluded and bored they tend to start playing with food, water, and/or the litter box. From there you could try changing boxes or litter to see if it is one of those issues, if being alone in a room with the litter box isn't helping. I think some cats may just need litter lessons every so often. If the box doesn't smell like the cat, they may not realize that is where they should be going or they have forgotten how awesome it is to use the litter box.

I agree with 1st poster re: limiting access to all the house for the time being, especially if you're not there. Ensure choice of litter boxes, as previously suggested 1 covered and 1 not, and ? Choice of litter.

My Bengal doesn't like wood, actually none of my cats do, and only use it rarely as a last resort. My Bengal seems to like the extra large box we got her, from Zooplus.

You've definitely checked no uri e infection? I only ask as mine had a UTI which caused all our misery.
