For the past hour Hestia has been chasing her tail constantly and will not stop it, if we pick her up, she fights to get away and then continues...... we're a bit worried as this isn't normal behavoir - any ideas what's wrong?

Maybe she's been over doing it on the old catnip lately!

We rang the vets and they said take her down, once she got there she was terrified and long forgot about her tail.... the vet checked her and said she looks fine and might just be a stress release! Quickest ?25 I've ever spent!

Glad to hear she's OK...ever think you're in the wrong job?

Mystery solved! There's been a black kitten hanging outside neighbourhood, it has been meowing for help non stop since yesterday apparently (so our neighbours say) we could still hear it miaowing this morning and this must be what wound Hestia up. When we opened our front door this morning the black cat came running in. We've found it's owner, but apparently it's not all the ticket and gets itself lost and can't find its way home, the owner seemed quite annoyed that we came knocking on his door looking for who owned it.....the cat was clearing getting distressed being outside so you'd think they'd keep it inside wouldn't you? :angry:

Gavin, the next time that poor little kitty invites him/herself into your house, condider him your newest family member

Obviously the real owners aren't doing a very good job of taking care of him/her. Sounds like he/she could use a new loving and caring home. I think you fit the ticket just fine

Oh, Milo chases his tail all the time. It's a hilarious sight. He spins around so quickly that he falls over sometimes.

Don't tempt us, I've never seen a kitten so affectionate....... don't think the Bengals would be too happy though, although they were looking out of the window and didn't get "puffed up" at it

It's a known fact that it's the kitten that picks the owners most of the time whatever the situation may be.....Heidi would have already hatched a plan to "cat-nap" it.....She's already admitted to one "cat-napping" incident on this site, Why not go for another!


If it comes around again.....consider yourselves both blessed and offer it a home.....and If the neighbour doesn't like it we'll cross that bridge in another post! :ph34r:

Hestia is still not acting normally after the kitten incident - still chasing her tail, going out into the cat run and just sitting in the dark for a long time and last night I found her with a big clump of fur, which I can only assume she pulled out of herself.....

Sounds like she is depressed? Maybe seeing the kitten outside made her upset that she's not allowed outside of the cat run?

Their new floor to ceiling cat tree turned up today, so hopefully that will cheer her up B)
