Some of Archie's 'chirps' are sounding remarkably like words lately! He can say "dinner" ("mih meh") and "chicken" (a different variation of "mih meh"). It's hard to explain, am I going mad or is he imitating English?! Do any of your cats 'speak' words too?

I've never had a cat that 'spoke', but my friend's cat did. Her meows could often sound like my friend's name, Sarah. It was weird hearing a cat meow words for sure, but you aren't going mad!

Gaga has an uncanny "Oh Oh" meow that always makes me laugh. I had a moggie that had a huge vocabulary of sounds, but her most common one was that she'd say "Hmmmmm?" (with a rising pitch) As a greeting, that I would always echo back to her.

Merlin definitely says "hello" - he can't quite pronounce his "L" properly yet so it sounds more like "herro" but he says it when he first comes into a room and is greeting me.

and i thought i was going crazy! Tigger says mum quite well, it's not very articulate but he does go 'maaooooo maaaooo' and when he calls for my partner, he has a different meow noise for him'. then he also does that trilling 'hmmmm?' noise when you call him sometimes. there was also once when a big moth was flying around the bathroom after it fluttered in the medicine cabinet for the longest time, and i thought it was a mouse running around! the moth came out and started flying around, i kept saying to it 'oh get out, moth!' and Tigger repeated 'out! out! out!'

Doja has a very distinctive sound in the mornings around 5-6am "ma ma". It always makes my boyfriend and I laugh. Doja will just sit on the floor by my bedside (or jump on the bed) and say "ma ma" over and over until I pet him. I love it... but it is 5am man.

this morning i was in such a rush to get ready for work, i decided to get myself ready first and feed the furries later. Tigger came into the bathroom to check on me and was like 'mawrrrr mawrrrr' and when he saw me he stopped, went outside and came back in and started all over again, so he was obviously looking for me to feed him because he knew i was up. but of course, he's more polite and patient than Nala is, she screams at the top of her lungs until she gets fed

Mine are both very vocal but it wasn't until the other day when Snowpoke sounded like he said a word. He was looking at me and squeaking, and I said "Snowpoke!" and he returned a similar noise... I can't spell it out but it was distinctly with two syllables and two hard "O" sounds in the exact same tone that I used! Cats are crazy.

My Bengal talks on a regular basis. He calls my grey tabby "Waaaaannn" (Wayne). I haven't heard him try my given name, but I hear "Maam" if I don't respond to his "I'm here" wails quick enough. He has an affirmation sound he makes to questions and a negative.

I've only had this big boy a month or so. I know he's going to be doing more talking as time goes on. Seems all my cats do, except my 8 yr old Aby, she barely meows.
