I'm making progress, woo-hoo! Fantasia is coming around. This morning she is moewing loudly for me whenever I leave the basement. Unfortunately, I have to get ready for work very soon!

I purchased the Feliway last night and I could tell she liked/or was interested in the smell because her little nose was going a mile a minute! She actually came out of the basement this morning (despite my two moggies - as you call them - eating at the top of the stairs)and wandered in the hallway to look up the stairs for me. Right now she is very contentedly sitting about three and a half feet away while I type this post!

I might get to pet her super soft and oh so glittered fur very soon!

That's good to hear. Did you try our suggestions or did it just work out of it own accord?

I'm glad she's coming around! I suspect she was just totally overwhelmed having to deal with too many new and scary things at once and needed some more time to develop enough trust and courage to investigate her new surroundings and family.

Tameeria and Nicola,

Thanks again for all your great suggestions which I did use. Toys, treats, spending more time down there, towel with my scent and the Feliway.

I felt so-o guilty leaving her this A.M. because she was meowing for me :cry:

It is like having an infant with separation anxiety! Now that she has decided she actually likes me, I take off on her! I'm glad I read all the other "meowing" posts to understand more about it.

My only worry is how she will get along with Pixel, my three year old spotted brown tabby. Pixel likes to "flex" her muscles by using Fantasia's litter box and eating some of her food. :roll:

We shall soon see!

Luckily my teen-aged daughter is home during the day until the end of August so she can "referee" them!
