Hi Claire,
I second what Miki says, it's nice to hear from more EG owners and their positive experiences with EGs, and would be good to continue to hear from more owners and breeders...
Orion is a complete stunner (as is Jupiter), love their pics, and the vid of Orion doing the tongue thing is to DIE for. They are both great looking F3s, and I think F3s are a really great choice for those wanting that extra wild look and EG intensity - without going to the extreme of an F1 or F2. With good selective breeding, at F3 you can achieve the wild look of an EG with that 12.5% ALC blood (as with Orion and Jupiter), but have a lot less of the wild ALC traits. Great compromise IMHO.
If you really want an F1 then it's a VERY big decision - 1st thing being a Dangerous Wild Animal licence to consider which has strict requirements, including public liability insurance, and potentially having to modify your home, amongst other things (more details here:
http://www.defra.gov.uk/wildlife-pets/w ... hybrid.htm), plus everything else already mentioned etc etc.
A well bred, well raised F2 can give you all of the look of an F1 with less of the "wild cattitude", and less of the potential hassle... but even then not a decision to be taken lightly.
