Hi Guys,
Need some advice.
I've had an SBT Bengal. I also have an Egyptian Mau.
Unfortunately, my SBT has passed away and I want to get another cat. It is important to me that the new cat gets on with my Egyptian Mau. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO ME - PERHAPS THE MOST IMPORTANT.
My Egyptian Mau is terrifically athletic. Very demanding. Unbelievably dominating and likes to play-fight a lot. He is not vicious, but he likes to gradually impose himself on all other cats. He dominates other cats, over a period of time.
What I'm looking for is an equally athletic Bengal, who won't lay over. He needs to have a strong personality and must stand up to my Egyptian Mau.
Now, I was thinking of getting an early generation Bengal, in the hope that with his wilder side, he will have a higher energy level and will be able to play with the Mau for extended durations. Can anybody who has owned an F2, F3 or F4 comment on how active these cats are?
So, my main criteria: 1. I want a cat who has a dominating personality 2. no fraidy cats (this would not be fair on the new cat) 3. he needs to be athletic (so he is able to run/play with my Mau, who is terrifically fast/athletic) Generally, what would happen with my previous Bengal is that my Mau would wear him out, then begin to play-fight. By this stage the Bengal was "spent" and my Mau would chase him hard, until I intervened and separated them. My Mau is VERY athletic and loves to play with other cats. 4. he must get along with other cats.
The alternative would be for me to get another Egyptian Mau, but I want to avoid having 2 cats of the same breed - I'm looking into getting a Savannah or Bengal.
