Hiya all

After months of no small dead creatures (5 cats, we felt very lucky) Juno has started killing birds, so far 2 blackbirds and a kestral. I am utterly devastated as a bird lover. We have fixed 3 bells to his collar but to no avail he killed blackbird number 2 this morning within minutes of being out.

Has anyone been through this and solved the problem? I have read about the sonar collars but they have mainly poor reviews... If he carries on i'm considering keeping him in...

Sorry to post about my non-bengal but my internet research was fruitless.. only coming up with 'the cat bib' which looks pretty ridiculous and would shame any self-respecting cat into being a recluse!

Does anyone think 'Da Bird' encourages cats to hunt???

I've heard keeping them in at dawn and dusk is supposed to help but I've never tried it myself, my garden is catproofed so luckily the birds just taunt from the sidelines!

Thanks guys. We only let ours out between 9am and 5pm as I worry about nighttime dangers. Thats interesting what the RSPB said, as we feed the birds and I was starting to think maybe we should not. We were shocked to see he had caught a kestral a few days back, and blackbirds are not small birds either. Juno is such a small sweet natured cat, I am so surprised he is a killer, I guess having 3 cats who don't hunt is lucky enough, to have 5 would be pretty unheard of - I was worried that Missy would be the hunter, but she has never caught anything!

Oh and thanks, he is gorgeous isn't he, shame he is a bird-killer (my OH isn't talking to him)

Noa has a little bird friend that sits outside the hand railing in my 2nd floor apartment. They stare at each other for the longest of times each day until the little bird tends to his other doings. Being an indoor cat there's no way Noa could get to dabird but I'm pretty sure if he had the chance he would mangle his new little friend thinking it was just another petsmart toy.
