Hi All,
I was wondering how you all manage with nail cutting. I have a 9 month old bengal. I have trimmed his nails a few times but now that he is bigger he fights it so I am terrified of hurting him.I end up more upset than him after an attempt at it. I rang the vet who advised me I should not be cutting his nails at all. The poor fella is catching in everything as they are getting too long. I have scratching posts but he appears to like the sofa better
I was wondering if anyone uses a pet groomer to do this. I live in Dublin.

I have to have help to cut the nails of two of my cats... Perkin and my tortie, Nomi.

Nomi whines, whines and struggles, though she isn't too bad at it.

Perkin whines, and tries to nip me! Never hard, but he is pretty hard to hold down.

My little grey is amazing at it. I just hold her on my lap and she'll sit patiently on her little rump until I am done.

My old boy Tonk, Mr Ko, sits easily enough to have his claws clipped. Once they are done, he will gently lift up your free hand and nibble your finger nails as if as much to say "my turn to do yours now" and is so pleased to have returned the favour.

I had this question too ,I tried few times when she was awake and it was
a 2 people job, but now....when she sleeps next to me , that deep sleep, I just check all the nails when I feel like and NO PROBLEM....she opens a little bit her eyes...and that is , very effortlessly and easy....
The nails are ususally in, so I push them out nicely and she is not bothered...
again...i cut nails while she is asleep
