Hello,

Ozzy (our 6month old bengal boy) has finally met his new friend Roxy (our just over 11wekks little bengal girl).
She is absoluly lovely, but we're really concerned about her not eating. She hasn't touched any food for 2 days now. She engages in play sessions well and has been to the litterbox 3times. She had a very runny poop and threw up twice (just some liquid that the vet said was normal as her empty stomach generates some acid). We took her to the vet this morning and were told that there is nothing obviously wrong with her. She doesn't sneeze but it seems that there is somthing in her mouth that irritates her as she is trying to use her paws to scratch her mouth. Again, the vet said that there was nothing in her throut and that we just have to keep an eye on her. She seems to be very thirsty as she drinks a lot of water.
Can anyone suggest what we could try to do to get her eating please? We tried giving her the food that she was on before: Royal Canin Kitten 36 and Royal Canin kitten pouches, tried applaws that Ozzy is absolutely loving, Royal canin Sensitive Vet Diet...she didnt even sniff any of the food. We tried to give her some boild chicken, she looked interested, sniffed the food but didn't touch any... Now she's curled up on my lap and fallen asleep.

Please, please advise us!!!

Has she eaten at all since you brought her home? If not, it could just be the stress of settling in to a new home and she'll start eating when she's ready. Otherwise, I think you need to be asking the vet again, especially as you say she's drinking quite a lot. The pawing at her mouth is a mystery - when my previous cat did that, it was because she had tartar on her teeth but that's not going to be the case in a kitten. I presume the vet checked her teeth? It makes me a little suspicious that she won't eat anything but she's drinking - if your teeth are sore you might not want to chew things but will fill up on fluids instead. There are other things that cause excessive drinking but it's the combination of her seeming to have some sort of soreness in her mouth that makes me wonder if that's why she's drinking lots.

I think if she doesn't eat in the next 24-48 hours you'll need to go back to the vet and ask for more advice. I think their first response to a lot of things is to leave it and "see what happens" and they only really take it seriously when you go back a second time with the same issue.

How's Roxy doing now? I hope she has settled down and started eating

We were so overwhelmed with recent events. Roxy surprised us with eating on Monday night and now she is like a piranha! She eats both her food and Ozzy's at the same time!!!
She seems to have started settling down. Actually she has started taking over everything Ozzy is doing. If he starts playing with something she comes and takes it away! But we see that she really likes Ozzy. She always purrs as soon as she approaches him. It's really sweet
Ozzy seems to be really frustrated though with her being absolutely everywhere he goes!
We were really worried in the beginning with Ozzy's reaction. The only game he wanted to play with her was when he jumps on her, rolls, and holds her with his front paws kicking her with his back paws and trying to give a play bite on her head on neck. We think it's a play bite cos as soon as she gets free she runs back towards him. She screams really unhappily though when he takes her by the head. But now she seems to fight back and even initiate the attack.

Like you, neither seem intimidated, scared or hurt as even when they get rather rough they both keep running back for more.
