Any recommendations. The ones i've seen tend to look good, but I don't think they will do the job. Seem a bit flimsy. Any suggestions, ideas etc...

I have to say I am a big fan of the solid wood cat trees.
I have had dozens of different trees over the years; all of them lasting a matter of months; possibly a year or two max. However my wood cat tree is still going strong after 12 years. Sturdy as the day it was bought and not a 'wobble' to be seen and that's with up to 7 large Bengals jumping all over it at any one time A little more expensive but definitely well worth the investment IMO

Try Connie and Stu. They are making ultra sturdy basic models. Carpet is good, sisal strong. Just made me a couple with two scratch poles, the taller with a solid wooden box on top and the lower with a carpeted stoop. They stay in place, dont wobble and the cats like them
