Hi everyone! Thanks for your quick responses and tips!! Excuse us for asking but what does the term "glutton" mean? We have never heard that term before. Tink is just over 13 weeks old. We had her on a special type of canned food that our vet gave us that was mostly duck, to help get rid of diarrhea that she has having. He told us we could slowly add in other canned food as Tink allowed us until the diarrhea was gone. The diarrhea went away and now she is on strictly wet food. It is Special Kitty starters for Kittens. We just had her first check up 3 weeks ago and the vet said she was a little underweight, but overall healthy. I don't know if you can tell from the pictures but she is quite small. We have only been feeding her 6-9 oz of wet food per day (a can is 3 oz). The vet told us only to feed her 6 oz a day, however I just noticed when looking at the type of food she is now eating, that it says feed adult kats (6-8 lbs.) 3 cans per day and feed kittens twice this amount which would be 6 cans per day, or 18 oz. Does this sound like too much? She barely weighs 2 lbs but she hasnt grown much in the month we have had her, and she is always starving or at least it seems that way. Tink also howls for the food, and then growls while eating it. We were not sure if she was pure bengal as we do not have papers (we asked this question in an earlier post) but this makes us think even more that she is, with the very similar traits everyone is telling us. We are not sure she has been checked for parasites, but she did have whatever is included with the normal first checkup at a vet. The bad thing (and expensive) is that she will not touch dry food, or at least the kind our other cat Cleo eats. We have actually started feeding Cleo canned food as well when we feed Tink so that she doesn't feel left out. Cleo however has always eaten dry food and Tink shows no interest in it. 6 cans of wet food can become very expensive. Tink is not spaid yet, we are getting her spaid in about 2 weeks.Nekosushi, thanks for the advice. We have been almost punishing her, with a spray bottle, etc because she is so determined to get our food. We do praise her as well, it is just very annoying to have a cat jump in the high chair that your 2 year old is sitting in at least 10 times a night every night during dinner. One last question, when is it good to switch a cat from kitten food to adult food? As long as we give her some kind of wet food, she does not seem to mind, so we are thinking if maybe we give her a heavier food like suggested, rather then the light kitten food she is eating currently, she might be fuller after eating. Tonight for example, we fed her a full 3 oz of wet food at 4:30 and we just gave her another full 3 oz and it is 7:00 to see if she seems full(without being sick)Thanks again to everyone, anymore suggestions would be appreciated!
