My situation is similar to Mollyrock and I do understand the other points made, in fact the first time we did let spotty out she slid thru the trellis into the garden at the back and was gone for nearly 2 hours and I was beside myself with worry, also being a parent of two fine teenagers I could teach them road sense, somthing I realise a cat wont necessarily gain or have, I have also owned dogs over the years as well as cats and do worry that sometimes we own them for our own selfish needs/love and its hard to get the balance right and give them somthing back they need, also, due to the poor health of spotty girl we have let her out to see if she would respond health wise and she does seem fitter and more content, less weepy eyes too, but, as was previously noted she only has us to yowl at and no bengal buddy.
