Hi, you may not remember me but its good to see a few old familiar faces around.
I used to post ages ago and had a silver queen called Lyra. I got really busy, we moved, we were offline for ages and I kind of got out of the habit of posting.
OK - here is the plea for help/advice
We successfully bred Lyra to a lovely brown spotted bengal and got a really nice litter - 7 kittens. We found homes for 5 of them (one of them was given to a friend with post natal depression and I am almost certain the kitten was instrumental in her near instant uplift in mood ) and we kept 2 girls - a silver and a brown. They are now just over a year old.
They all litter trained w no trouble at all but the brown came into call and started spraying. She cycled in and out of call a lot and sprayed and then just peed on the carpets. I had the vet give them all that contraceptive injection as i am not sure if we will breed again but I want a year to think about it and not shut the door on the option for ever by spaying them. We will be moving to a larger house in the spring and it might be more do-able.

Anyway, the brown just continues to pee in several specific areas of the hall (notably, one of the major areas is by the front door) and living room carpet though she does poo in the litter tray. I have 3 litter trays and they are kept super-clean. I have tried putting noxious things or furniture where she likes to pee but then she just moves her pee spot. I clean the pee spots very thoroughly with detergent, not bleach or vinigar.

I am at my wits end. I think I am doing everything right but its beginning to make the house irreperably grody. We are very very very fond of this cat and dont want to sell her off to an outdoor situation, but dont have the facilities to have her in an outdoor situation where we will be moving to - we are going to be in a large house attached to a hotel that we are taking over and so we cannot have the smell of cat pee wafting through the building.

Any suggestions? A couple of other things that may be clues to you are:
the cats are a bit overcrowded for now and are having small conflicts
The brown seems quite dominant
She also seems "wilder" than the other two - silvers
When she gets the chance, she likes to do her number twos in the poor dog's water bowl!!

well you have been busy! good luck with the hotel, that sounds like a great adventure
i think your girl is more than likely marking her territory 1, to show her status over your other girls (even though they are related it means nothing to them) & 2, to attract males from outside.

even with the contraceptive, they may not call but those instincts for reproduction are still there. i don't think there is a lot you can do about it to be honest, while she remains entire.

i had to kit out a room especially for my girls as there was no stopping them, they now have a completely wipe-clean & moppable room where they can spray & piddle to their hearts' content, little buggers!!

i wish i could offer some more productive advice but maybe somebody else will be able to

Yes, the vet and I are keeping a close eye on things re the pyometra issue. It is not something that will be administered more than once or twice untill we decide what to do.
You say that this spraying is a hazard of entire queens - contracepted or not. So the solution is clearly to get her spayed
but . . .
here is the big scary but . . .
if she is spayed and continues to pee then it is going to get really hard. She would be no use to a breeder and no use as a pet.
So, is spaying any guarentee that she will stop doing this if she is speyed? My OH, btw, is very reluctant to spay her and would "rather give her to a reputable breeder than waste her perfection and genetic potential" whereas I would rather spey her and keep her as my dear pet forever - thus do the different sexes express thier love
But seriously, it is really tricky and am stressed to the max atm.
Have a billion more questions but will leave it at that for now.
